That Walmart Sony sub is childs play. :rotf:

I'm setting up 2 Cadence Wild Beast 12" 700 watt RMS rated subs with 3" of excursion in my MJ behind the front seats as my back massager. They weigh 25 pounds each. They are 2008 models that only cost $99.00 each with free shipping.

Each sub will be powered by its own Cadence Q2300 amp bridged into mono for 500 watts of RMS power each. I got a great deal on them. :brows:

I'll be using another Q2300 amp in stereo at 175 watt RMS into two channels powering a pair of Cadence TXC-6K 6.5" components speakers rated at 90 watt RMS at 2 ohm per channel in each front door. Each door will have a pair of the Cadence speakers mounted in custom fiberglass/MDF door speaker pods I'm building. :D

I have a good 2 year old Sony head unit for now until I can get a new Alpine or such. I want it to have HD & satellite radio, an I-pod hook up, a front USB port and 3 sets of RCA outs like the Sony has.

I won't be using any other speakers then the subs in the back. My goal is to have a nice front sound stage so it sounds like I'm at a concert. jamminz.gif

I think 1350 watts RMS should be enough to cover up the tire and engine noise.

what kind of sub box you gonna use? Just curious cuz i had 2 8" rockfordfosgates in mine. Home made boxes and they hit hard for the lil things. One got sold and the other box is still lying around, I might put one of those square kickers in it. I miss just a lil bass the 5 1/4s and 4x6's don't cut it.

I'm building some 1.5 cu. ft. sealed boxes for very tight accuate bass for the behind the front seats as my back massager. jamminz.gif

oh ok, i think mine is like 1.35 which was ideal for the fosgates. I think the kicker 8 is like 1.3 cuft min. So ill see how that works. Hope yours turns out good jamminz.gif

That box would work with a Cadence Wild Beast sub if it has enough depth. They are awesome. They reccomend a 1.5 cu.ft. box for a purest, a 1 cu. ft. as normal listener or even a .88 cu. ft. sealed box for a boomer.

The 3" of woofer travel each sub has is just nuts. jamminz.gif

When the subs are in a ported box they reccomend a 1.75 cu. ft. box with a round 3"x7.5" long port per speaker.

For SPL competition they reccomend 2.5 cu. ft. box with a 5"x5"x12.83" port or up to a 3.5 cu. ft. box with a 8"x9"x11.75" port. Thats per sub...

Most people don't know about Cadence. They break world records for SPL and are total quality. They are big in Europe. ;)

Ported for max SPL, sealed for best SQL. :chillin: For the price they can't be beat. :D

My amps were $395.00 list price each. I got a great deal.

They are 20" long and 10" wide and about 15 pounds each.

Between just the amps and speakers I'll be adding 100 pounds or more to the MJ. Thats not counting the sub boxes or fiberglass/ MDF door speaker pods. :brows:

There was this kid back when i went to highschool, he made like 6 subs in a roll out amp system under the box for his bed. Guess the system was pretty sweet, course its hawaii, the people here aint to sharp. Anyway about a month or two after rolling out those amps to put fuses and such a wire severed and one day it arced and guess what happened to the box and the truck. It was on the side of the road burning. LOL i love it when toyota owners try to think :rotf:

3000 watt of peak power from an amp don't mean squat. :fool:

I want clean efficient sound. :chillin:

Alpine mono amps have .1% THD and only >85 DB signal to noise ratio.... Dirty...

Cadence mono and stereo amps have .04% THD and <100 DB signal to noise ratio and put out 20% more power then they are rated at.... jamminz.gif

Alpine X's subs are also inefficient with only 84 DB output at 1 watt....

My Wild Beasts are way more efficient with 95 DB output at 1 watt...

Did you know that a difference of three decibels in subwoofer efficiency is equivalent to a doubling of the amplifier power. :brows:

That makes my dual 500 watt RMS amps and Cadence subs have a higher much cleaner SPL/SQL level. 8)

An 11 DB difference and clean power will win the race. :rotf:

There was a late 80's Cutlass that was rollin on 22's that burned a few months ago. He put the fuse by the amp instead of the battery. It shorted out after he parked it and went in the house. I guess he should have used a grommet in the firewall. The whole car burned. :rotf:

:agree: yes but when come down to it the more room in the trunk the louder and also the more rms the louder i don't really care what thd your subs have when you sit i his jeep it will hurt your head. and the type X will most likly hit much lower the yours they are dual voice coil like yours but bigger. but i don't care i go kicker all the way

Sounds like an awesome set up...

I have two 10" MTX subs I got for $50, a 600w Sony amp, and an Alpine head unit. All were purchased at a pawn shop for less than $175 together. It could be a lot clearer, but its super low and really freaking loud inside cab. The main issue was space. I'm 6'2" and have a roll cage in the truck also, so I barely fit. With the tens in seperate boxes behind each seat, I'm a little cramped.

I don't understand any of the speaker tech stuff...but, no human being, unless they are completely deaf, can sit in the truck with it turned up for more than 10-15 minutes,,,,it just rattles your brain too much. I know guys have bigger systems in their vehicles and crank them all the time,,,maybe I'm just weak though.

I'm at the quiting point for my stereo, I'm calling it good,,,except for some 4x6 Cerwin-Vegas (freebies) I pulled out of a Grand Cherokee that will go in the pillars.
