Shane Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 As I stated in many of my other post I am not a mechanic & most of the stuff I know I learned here. With that said I have a 89 MJ auto. 4x4 that I bought a skyjacker 3.5 inch lift for, but it did not send the U Bolts I believe and the directions said I need to know what type of rearend is under there. Any help is appreciated
Comanche County Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 most likely a Dana 30 front and Dana 35 rear. There are a lot of sites the have this info. Check out: http://www.lunghd.com/Tech_Articles/Sus ... Ratios.htm
BLHTAZ Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 The front will be a D30, but your concern is the rear. It's either a D35 (most likely) or a D44 (not likely). Can you take a picture of yours and post it?
mvusse Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 They most likely did not include U bolts because the different axles have different diameter tubes. Automotive parts stores usually carry U bolts. I'm lucky to have a shop just down the road that does work on semi truck brake systems, but also does hydraulic tubing, carry a bunch of bearings and will custom bend any U bolt I need for less than most places sell them. They also have spring centering bolts by the 5 gallon bucket and universal shock mounts.
