brdhntr
the column works fine, the tilt works fine. the steering wheel can be moved up and down some even when locked in place. it doesn't move alot, but it does move some. is this a normal for these? is it an easy fix or do i have to replace the whole column? it seams fine, but is it dangerous the way it is? :dunno:
shelbyluvv
It will get worse and worse as time goes on. Here is the write up I use to fix them all the time. http://www.chevyasylum.com/column/tiltcol.html
bermsurfer230
Wish I would have known how to fix my column a few months ago. Started with a lil wiggle, and then progressively got worse. My friends started laughing and called it "The Dance", and eventually ruined the wiring and pins and locks in the column. Eventually, The Dance was NEEDED to start the truck everyday, and the jokes continued. Then, the whole column was replaced when the ignition lock connenctions snapped inside... and the tilt mech. didn't work.... or the multi-function column for that matter. So a new column went in!!! So, make sure to take care of your "Mini Dance" before it becomes a "Tow-It-Home-Dance." End rant ha ha
