jtdesigns Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 If I want to swap from Renix to a OBDI 4.0HO and have a AX15 out of the same era Jeep, do I need to worry about a pilot bushing, or bearing??? Even if the HO engine was in front of an auto??? Thinking of going HO in my 89, using a 94 XJ as the donor.... Isnt there a write-up somewhere on this?? :hmm:
Geonovast Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 If the engine was in front of an auto, it won't have a pilot bushing. You'll also need a manual flywheel. Other than the pilot bushing missing(the hole for it is there though) and flywheel the motor would be identical. Remember, by swapping to the HO, you'll need to swap the entire engine bay and dash harnesses as well.

Or will I have to get HO flywheel?
Geonovast Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Nope, the Renix and HO flywheels are completely different.
