MancheKid86 Posted December 23, 2008 Share Posted December 23, 2008 couldnt start my manche when i needed it :( i took my starter completley apart and put it back together, took it into a shop and the guy said it worked fine, i got him to replace the solinoid for it anyway, slapped it back in my truck and... nothing :headpop: checked the wires said its getting 25 v of current going to it, it should be around 12 i thoguht? is this too much for it? any ideas? i need a few ideas because i won't be working on it for about 2 weeks and it could be alot of things Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
mvusse Posted December 23, 2008 Share Posted December 23, 2008 Current is measured in Amperes, or "A", potential is measures in Volts or "V". If you have a 25V potential across the starter, either you are running a dual battery set up connected in series, or you are reading your tester wrong. MancheKid86 Posted April 8, 2009 Author Share Posted April 8, 2009 fixed problem, took some 200 amp electrical cables and replaced them, starts right up, found out it helps the engine if you put the vacume hose on too, runs soo much better Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
