IDXJ Posted December 5, 2008 Share Posted December 5, 2008 Ever since I put the 2-low kit in my XJ, I've not liked the shifter. When I'm wheeling I find that I am in and out of 2-low and 4-low a lot. I did not like the bend in the shifter that makes the handle horizontal in 2-high. When shifting the AX15 and the T/C I wanted the handles closer together. So, I removed the T/C shifter and cut the handle portion off. Then I welded a 3/8" bolt to the end that I had just cut. Ground the head of the bolt down for aesthetic purposes and painted the shifter. Re-installed it and put a new shifter handle on. Now it is within easy reach when wheeling. I really like this mod. jtdesigns Posted December 5, 2008 Share Posted December 5, 2008 Sweet I have one of these; It is a M385 40mm training round for the Mark19 and the M203 M16 launcher; Its been setting on my desk as a paperweight for about 3 years now.
