fiatslug87 Posted November 9, 2008 Share Posted November 9, 2008 I was under the '88, 4.0L, 5-speed MJ today and noticed a bare stranded wire that goes nowhere in the knock sensor harness. Does this belong some where? I see two wires that go to the knock sensor connector that are intact. On my other two MJs, the wires that lead to the knock sensor have a sheath over them and the wires are not visible. The MJ does develop a "rattle" above 2500 RPM in any gear, even neutral. mjeff87 Posted November 11, 2008 Share Posted November 11, 2008 I can't really tell what wires you are talking about from your pic, but there are three sets of wires in that subharness.
