tranny in my manche

my manche is an 88 4.0 inline 6 what tranny is it np231?

it won't go into 4th gear...is the sinc gear off?? or should

i just get another one out of a tj or somethin

Np231 in the tcase.

 

 

You've got a 4.0 and an 88 5spd, it's a BA10/5 peugeot. They like to explode.

 

 

What ya want to swap in is an AX-15. There's a million posts on how to do it. :cheers:

is it a bolt up swap? i don't really know much about trannys if i have to mod something

for the most part. You can reuse the BA 10 clutch hose.

You'll need an AX-15 complete with bellhousing and all of the parts inside.

IIRC there's a differnce in the pilot bearing, and you'll have to move the trans x-member back. I believe that the Drive shafts are going to be different lengths.

Drive shafts are within 1/2". Normally it will be fine. Or better as the Ax-15 is the longer one of them, I think.

 

 

Tranny mount differs. Crossmember needs to be moved. And the pilot bearing is different.
