Pete M Posted June 17, 2006 Posted June 17, 2006 You don't need the H.O. head. It just flows a bit better than the older heads. Either will work fine.
pingpong Posted June 18, 2006 Posted June 18, 2006 The whole key to building a succesful engine.. it don't matter what it is, is good machine work, and good quality parts. Also since it sounds like you are unsure of what to do, it might be wise to do lots more research.
sinnaevd Posted June 18, 2006 Author Posted June 18, 2006 absolutally. like i said I have an HO and a regular 4.0 (ho from a 91 with completel wiring..actually complete truck and an 4.0 from an 89) I also have a complete 4.2L with wiring harness. So I will have all of the basic parts I need, and I know I could do it...just really not sure at what I'm looking at. I will definately read more about them, but those sites everyone posted were extremely helpful, so that's to everyone for their input. I will probably build it next summer. Want to be able to drive the manche first befor I start dumping money into an engine upgrade like that
