1987Comanche Posted August 28, 2008 Share Posted August 28, 2008 Are you using a gasket or RTV? Mine won't seal with a gasket because they missed a machining operation on the head back in '87. For whatever reason they never finish machined the mating surface between the valve cover and the head. It's just gray cast iron and so it's not smooth. BookspanS Posted August 28, 2008 Author Share Posted August 28, 2008 My dad did most of it for me back when I didn't know very much about workin on cars, but I think he used both, and I got the CCV valve to fix the problem :D . only problem is that the hose running for it is too short :mad: so i gotta get some new hoses for that later today.
