  1. So I will be changing my leaking exhaust manifold this week and was reviewing Alldata's procedure. I says I need to drain the coolant. Is this necessary? I probably needs to be done but I would like to do it later and just get the exhaust leak fixed first. thanks
  2. Try Brown's of Two Rivers, WI. www.cooltruckparts.com Their onsite inventory isn't always up to date, but if you call them they are very helpful. Bought mine from here.
  3. Since my MJ is missing it's headliner, and I don't have the extra $109 to spend right now. I was wondering if there is a cheap alternative that won't look to cheap. The truck is going to be the wife's dd for a while and with the bare steel roof, it's kinda loud.
  4. For what it's worth, I have a brand new one in the box from NAPA and it doesn't make any noise when I shake it.
  5. I did the entire outside of my CJ with Durabak (www.durabakcompany.com) There is about a sixteen colors with or without UV protectant. They have a smooth and a textured finish available. Very happy with it so far, about 1 year. I used Herculiner under the tub and in the interior. Herculiner will fade. They offer a UV protectant but only for the black.
  6. I picked up a clock at the JY out of a MJ. Once home, found it has a different plug then what's in my '89. Does anyone have the wiring schematic for each type of clock so I can try to splice this one in? Or I can trade someone for the right clock ;)
  7. You need to add that to the DIY section. I agree, that is exactly what I was looking for.
  8. So what are you guys doing for replacement floor pans? Are you ordering replacements or making you own? Mine are shot and need to be done but I want to do it the easiest and most economical way. Appears that the premade ones are about $63 each, assuming that I need the short one. Thanks
  9. Can someone help me understand this mess of brake lines for the rear brakes? Why is there 2 lines, feed and return? One of these is leaking on me, if it is the return, can I just pinch it off for now? Am I better off ridding myself of the height prop valve mess?
  10. Thanks for the help guys. Now I have an idea where to go next. I'm sure I'll have more questions before I'm done. Just finished a CJ-7 and had the itch for another Jeep project, glad my wife loves me :brows:
  11. Hey guys, New to this comanche thing, have an '89 shortbox with the 4.0l 5 speed. Just got it running and found that the front axle will not engage. If I put it in 4h or 4l (commandtrac), the front drive shaft turns but the truck doesn't move (rear driveshaft is still off from towing). Can someone get me pointed in the right direction? I want to keep this truck 4x4 selectable. Thanks
