  1. nice in boston is a very general term. New England weather is very tetremental to say the least. Like they say if you don't like the NE weather wait a min.
  2. hydro boost are commonly used on deisels cause they do not create much if at all vacuum. The PS pump has to be of ample size. They will hold after multiple pumps where vacuum brakes sometimes fade. They will also not hold as well when the engine dies though cause you need the PS pressure for them to work properly. If you can adapt one from a medium duty truck (ex gmc kodiak) they have a small electric motor also to help in event of engine failure. Hope this helps.
  3. congrats KYMJ on your cert. Its a great thing to have. I did my FF I/II 5 yrs ago. I am now an instructor. I love the FD and teaching tech classes now. Makes life a lil more interesting.
  4. Yeah the fire station can be boring. This is what I do all day for the most part when in an outlying station. Even though we do close to 6500 calls a year. I don't mind dead people but as for crematory, embalming stuff I'm out, Id rather them fresh.
  5. 27, 28 in aug. Having a kid thats now 3 months old makes me feel ancient...
  6. No the 4 spd is staying its not bad. I was planing on running modified ford radius arms. I have 3/16 plate welded up to go over the sudo frame rails to attach to. I did this in my grand with good results. I want to extend the radius arms with tubing and a hiem at the frame end. As for now I am going to run it as is for a lil bit while I sell my TJ and fix the trans in my ZJ.
  7. rear wheel wells and bottoms of the doors are the worst area. Other small spots where its just surface rust but nothing major. Nothing out of the norm as least from my experiences with XJs. The exhaust was replaced right befor I got it as was the clutch. I think I might drive it as is for now. I mean its just getting broken in at 90,000 mi. Though i do need something other than the AM radio if I am to do that. With a 3 month old I'm trying to do this as cheap as possible. Here are the axles I got from my buddys 79 f150 for free. Hopefully the new front and rear....
  8. Ok Ive had 2 Xjs, 2 ZJs ( I still have my 97 with 5"and 32s), a TJ ( for sale) and now picked up this beauty for free. I have not done much cept remove the front bumper trim the front fenders a bit put in edelbrock shocks I had sitting around from the ZJ and the front springs from the ZJ which leveled it out nicely. It is a 4 banger 4 spd. I have D44 front and 9" rear, both with detroits that I will eventually swap in. I was gonna put them in the ZJ but the wifey likes it the way it is. I have 5x2 3/16 steel for a front bumper. I enjoy the site and will keep updating.... I hope.
  9. What about the stock fan from the 98 Grand cherokee. I have one in my 97 with the 5.2L and it keeps it plenty cool. Its made to cool the 5.9L. I don't know if it would fit but I could measure the fan and the space on my manche
