It seems to shift fine. Just all but neutral has the front shaft moving. I didnt get to mess with it very long though. I'm gonna shift it alot and hope itll come out. Also at slow speeds theres a soft thump underneath the truck, could this sound be part of it? And yes, i reach up underneath to shift

I see we've got some jokers haha :D

Well i didnt know where else to ask this, so. But anyways. My brothers cherokee for some reason won't swap into 2wd. And it can't be the linkage cause it doesnt exist currently. What could do this?

Engine Dying Out When Going Downhill
Knucklehead97 replied to Knucklehead97's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I just cleaned it up and tried it, no difference. It stops nearly dying out after 4 or 5 times of almost doing it. I havent testee the downhill wresults yet, but i doubt they'll be good. I'm stumped on this though -
Engine Dying Out When Going Downhill
Knucklehead97 replied to Knucklehead97's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Well i got the IAC cleaned up good. Crabked the trucj, did fine. Till about 30 seconds in idle when it went down to about 200 rpm and nearly died (it does this almost every thirty seconds now. It runs good, then rough, then good again.) Without even moving! I'm thinking i might have used to much throttle body cleaner, so I'm about to take it off again and clean it dry. Otherwise, what could this be? Bad iac? Something worse? -
Then on my 4.0 it should be great :D i can't wait to get it done and hear it.
-
I figured i would. The original has a more aggressive sound too, which i want Hopefully getting a quote on price this weekend :D been working 6am-4pm days with two hour drives lately. Been hard to get in jeep time :/

Engine Dying Out When Going Downhill
Knucklehead97 replied to Knucklehead97's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Is the IAC the left or right plug on the TB? Also my exhaust kinda sounds like its not breathing properly, could this be making the engine die when in neutral? -
Well ive listened to some videos and I'm stuck between either the original 40 or the super 40. Also i don't believe any that i watched were without a cat. Which I'm getting rid ofbecause such an old one must be clogged decently and not good for my engine at all, also it adds a better sound :D which do you guys find better? Super 40 or original? And if anyone has videos of their exhausts, please post because id love to hear.

Now that i've gotten my front end mostly figured out. I want to get my exhaust sounding nice. I've been thinking either a Thrush welded or Thrush turbo muffler (which do yall believe would sound better?) ran with 2 1/2 inch pipes and no cat. Single exit like the normal exhaust. Anything you reccomend? I want a nice noticable rumble at idle and when speeding up. Not to obnoxious though. Also what would you guys estimate an exhaust shop would charge for this?

I know the true full pain of fixing it, from my brothers. Ball joints were horrible to change
-
Just got my new front tires. No wobble with me either now! At about 65 i get a great mud terrain roar! The matching set looks great and i couldnt be happier.
-
U-joints were about the only thing we didnt have to replace on his. But during the ball joint replacement we had them checked and they were fine. I'm going to eventually be changing out all my front end bushings and joints, but id love if the tires got it fixed long enough to save up the money beforehand. We actually bought my brothers truck with the lift and tires already on it, and still don't know exactly how much lift or even what lift is under it. It seems to be mostly rusty's though, i live not far from RO's warehouse.

I'm hoping that i can get mine riding that smooth soon >.> getting new front tires saturday and i hope that will fix it for now

Or parking brakes just like to hit people named some form of zach lol. I'm gonna check hard for a retaining spring loose tomorrow. -
The 100% fix seems to be all new steering and front end bushing and new tires xD but thanks bro!
-
Well after a good year of trouble from my brothers lifted XJ's front end. I have finally gotten it running great. Had to replace all the bushings and ball joints but now even with unbalanced bald tires it runs up to 80 with no problem! Hes getting new tires soon and it'll be perfect. Now to get my trucks wobble fixed and my whole fam will have great running Jeeps :D just thought i would share with you guys!

Sorry for the delay on what happened wgen i adjusted my parking brake. I replaced the rear cables and brakes, adjusted greatly, and it still flies up and hits my hand hard. Has anyone found a solution to such? -

Ive actually been meaning to make new battery cables considering mine are corroded. It cranks every time though. So i should clean my TB, check the IAC, refresh my grounds and tighten battery cables, and stop coasting downhill. Anything else guys? -
Engine Dying Out When Going Downhill
Knucklehead97 replied to Knucklehead97's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
It seems good while driving on normal level surfaces, i mean i drove a good bit today and it only died on the hill. The idle seems a little low but nothing rough. And yes it is a stick. I think it is the iac from what youve said. -

Knucklehead97 replied to Knucklehead97's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I only coast in neutral when going down a steep hill, saves gas lol. And ill try that when i get the chance. Is there any way to check if thats whats broken? It seems to idle fine when just sitting in neutral on level ground
