As some of yall know from before, I have an 86 2wd 4speed. I had issues keeping it running and its not really what i want as a truck anyway. So I bought a 98 xj trail rig that had been rolled. I want to swap in the motor and drive train, but I am not interested in swapping in the new interior... I like my bench seat and old style interior. putting the drive train in is not an issue but can i make one harness or the other work with my factory dash? if the newer dash is needed to make everything work I guess thats what i'll do. The xj currently has an auto, but i'm not interested in keeping that. I'll find an AX15 eventually so will any other modifications needed to wiring for that? and lastly, does anyone want my oldmotor and tranny? LOL thanks guys. -
I did a little searching, but didn't find ant deffinate answers. I've got my little truck running 10 times better then it was, Just a few steps left I believe to have it road ready. Does anyone know if theres a write up, or picture thread that shows what you can and cannot delete on the vaccum circuit of things? I would like to eliminate as much crap as I can and help simplify my engine compartment. Or is it a setup that I'll just have to leave intact and deal with? Thanks in advance.

So, how was it?

I didn't know there were so many vets on here. Thats awesome. I have the habbit of asking most of the young guys I run into why they don't join.. I hear the most ridiculous responses.

I pulled mine out, and my truck came from OHIO. the floor under it had what looked liked waxon it. but it was never buffed out. bed floor looks great. So if anyone wants a bedliner for a long bed send me a message with an offer.

It will start on it own, but then dies. if I feed gas to it out of a bottle it does better. Not gonna try starting fluid. don't see the need. -

The new ECM I got worked. Truck starts and I was almost able to test drive it.. Now, It will start but immediately dies. I can keep the truck running by fanning the throttle, seems like when I push the throttle it bogs down, and once I let off it will kinda rev up. Soon as I hit the gas it bogs down again. If I don't touch the gas pedal, it will die. New injector, new fuel filter, new plugs, wires distro cap, and rotor button. -
I agree daking. I hope though that it becomes a main stay series and gets better.

I have the opertunity to get a FREE 8.8 out of a 92 explorer. Buddy said it has 3.73 gears. does the carrier in these have a break? Do I have to get a 4.10 carrier in order to go down to 4.88 gears? also how hard is a disk brake swap? he said he has an 8.8 also out of a thunder bird with diskbrakes already on it. can they swap over? Thanks

I hope it gets better. But it is better then nothing.

You sir, are ABSOLUTELY correct! I will have a street set to switch back and forth.

I run boggers (44x18x16.5's) on my other trial truck.. I disagree that they suck, they just have to be used in their element, and the way they are supposed to. Thanks for the pic though!

Anyone running or know what its gonna take to put either size on the rear of my MJ? I plan to run TSL's up front. But I have NEVER scene the 31 boggers, and curious if a spring over will clear enough for 33's. I can deal with a little rubbing/ trimming.
