    Fresh Paint

Had a slow weekend last so put some fresh paint on the 89 MJ. Came out really nice. It's 94 VW/Audi Cinnabar Metalic. Prettier than the standard red OEM. Built rear bumper also.
  2. Just bought flat 1/4 x 6 x 36" (brackets) & tubing 1/4 x 2 x 4 x 60" (bumper) for $48. Will do fabricating & welding myself so figure by the time I buy receiver to tack on to it & nuts & bolts I should be able to come in at less than $100 for a solid nice look-un bump. Might have it power coated (think-un). Gonna tuck it under the tail-gate & bed so its not obtrusive & maybe slap some sort of small nerf bars on it to protect the tailgate when I back into cars at the mall.
  3. Live near Roseburg now, recently moved here from Bend area
  4. 71 & still wheeling the backroads & trails (Mt's and desert) when chance comes up. Re-building my 2nd MJ currently. Gonna keep this one close to stock as DD. With gas at 3.25 can't go whole hog with the motovation mods.
  5. I just got through torquing down all four bolts on the Track Bar frame bracket. They were all loose and the bracket was flexing away from the frame 1/4 to 1.2 inch. Now my steering is back to like new. I went looking for a problem as my MJ would when ever it felt like it suddenly drift off the road, mainly to the right, and the wheel had gotten a lot of slop in it. It was getting scary. Anyway I had the wife rock the steering wheel back & forth while I was under the truck. Everything seemed tight I put my hands on. I just happened to get a finger pinched by the bracket & thats when I noticed it was slopping around when the wheels were turned left. Glad I found the problem when I did as the bolts weren't far from falling out o-d-holes.
  6. R & Rthe blower motor with one from the junk yard. It's shot.
  7. Had the same problem. After checking all elec connections I pulled the starter. On the bench and hooked up every thing worked like its suppose to, cranked just fine. Put it back in and it starrted once, but, wouldn't start again no matter what i tried on it. Pulled it out and went to NAPA & picked up a remanf. for 96.00. Put it in and have had no subsequent problems. The old starter was just shorting out internallly when it felt like it.
  8. Look-un good. Good work. I'm going to build one similar to that. I like the idea of keeping the receiver flush on the front side. I,m going to put a couple tabs on bottom edge for tow points.
