I was thinking about swapping in a 3.4, but from what ive read/heard the ax5 is gutless, and won't hold up as long as i'd like. But on a side note, when i swap in the i6, i was planning on swapping in the xj's axles, but the comanches rear is spring under, and the xj's is spring over, and i was wondering if anyone could give me an estimate of how much lift that will put in the back so i can decide what to do with the front to level it out. -Matt

How soon would we have to pay after placing an order? And do you have any idea how much hats would cost? Cuz I'm definitely interested in a hat too! -Matt

well assuming that the engine will fit, is their anything i really need to do to help the swap along? It'll be my first engine swap, so any advice is useful! -Matt

Is the wiring harness on the 2.8 compatable with the 4.0? and is the AW4 longer than the AX5? THe xj is an '88 if that changes anything

Hey all, I'm fairly new to the forum. Been lurkin a while :peek: finally decided to make an account since I bought a 'manche! Thing is, it has a gutless, 2.8 with a bad rod. I'm buying a parts xj this week, and am going to be swapping out the 2.8 for a 4.0, an AX5 for an AW4, and the dash cluster (I hate idiot lights). Wanted to ask to see what I need to change for the swap, anything i might have to buy or fabricate myself for the swap, and see if anyone on here could offer any advice for the swap, maybe tell me things I need to know or consider while doing it? Any and all help is much appreciated! -Matt
