Thanks bud! Glad you dig it!

Finally getting around to uploading some images of my finished JCR rear bumper.
-
I appreciate it man! I'm glad to help you make your mind up! I honestly love how this thing rides compared to my XJ on lift leaf springs, it was waaaay too stiff in my opinion. I think these OE leaf springs make up for a lot of that.

MJOTM - May, 2015 - revmaynard's '88 Sportruck
revmaynard replied to neohic's topic in Comanche of the Month (MJOTM)
Thanks! I am a real Maynard fan. ;) I'm a huge fan of TOOL (have been for yearrrrssss) and RevMaynard64 has been the handle I've used online for things for over 10 years. haha I would honestly say yes if you value improved vision at night. It's definitely cheaper to buy a few aux lights to mount to a bumper or whatnot but those are typically illegal to drive with on when on city roads and such. -

Minuit got it! ;) I had my coworker screw that back in when I was doing the side bezels before the pictures and after taking them I was at the gas station filling up and went 'DAMN IT!' haha Thanks everyone! -

Thanks again, I'm humbled by the selection! Now just waiting for someone to point out the install error you can see. ;) -
Thanks man, and he is a master at his craft! I would have had it finished up this weekend but he was a little preoccupied bringing a new little girl into the world. :)

I was working the whole time, but I only saw maybe 5 MJs. I wish mine had been there. :(

The clutch is still a little wonky. Double and triple clutching it works most of the time. I've currently got my AX15 being rebuilt so that will just go in instead of dropping the POS BA10 again to fix it. I got a JCR rear bumper kit that is a DIY. My buddy is welding it up for me since he's a boss with that stuff. Aside from that not much has changed with it recently. Right now the trans issues are the only reason my lockers/gears aren't done. Just a shot with my buddies XJ.

Peugeot shift rail alignment
revmaynard replied to revmaynard's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Thanks for the reply, metrictonner. I ended up removing the shifter and reseating it. It appears the rails are properly aligned for neutral when I was in neutral and removed it. I did not drop anything that should have been there inside of the case as I still had every factory piece and bolt I personally removed when I dropped the trans. I'm going to look into the clutch/slave since the truck will shift fine when it is not running. I only have the issue when the engine is running. -
Peugeot shift rail alignment

Yea I noticed that, but that was one of the few things I found about aligning the rails. I'd like to try something like this before I possibly drop the trans again. -
Peugeot shift rail alignment
revmaynard replied to revmaynard's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Hopefully! There seems to be a lot of knowledgeable folks on this site. My trans only has 99k on it and the ax15 I have needs a complete rebuild so I'd like to get this thing driving again with the Peugeot if at all possible. -
Peugeot shift rail alignment
revmaynard replied to revmaynard's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I actually just came across this when Google searching, not sure why the forum search didn't work. http://comancheclub.com/topic/34066-ba10-help-with-aligning-shift-arms/ So there is slot I need to make sure is aligned with the nub at the end of the shifter is what I gather? Would neutral have the slot in the center when properly aligned? -
Peugeot shift rail alignment

I actually replaced that on Friday after doing the slave the Saturday before. -
MC didn't change anything other than my pedal feel. I'm still having the issue with it going in and out of any gear at times. When it does shift it feels fine and I get no grinds which lead me to believe it's not a synchro issue. Someone mentioned aligning the shift rails so I put a thread up in the Tech section if anyone has any input!

Hey guys, I have had some problems with my trans seeming to get stuck in or out of gear after dropping it for a leaking slave. The new slave is working great when it shifts, but sometimes the trans gets completely stuck in or out of gear. (any gear) I didn't experience this until I got everything back in. The clutch isn't backwards or anything like that and the clutch and cover plate were in good shape. I had someone mention the shift rails could be out of alignment as they had a similar issue with their ax15. Does anyone here know what I need to be looking for when I pull the shifter back out to inspect this? The trans doesn't grind or anything like that when it does shift and feels fine. I'd really hate to have to drop this dang thing again! haha I did search the forum for a few common terms regarding this and couldn't find anything on the topic, thanks for any tips or help!

Put a new slave cylinder in it this weekend and changed the trans fluid. I even source the proper socket for the BA10 fill and drain plug. I've got a really low engaging pedal and it's not necessarily grinding, but it does have some trouble going in and out of any gear at different times. The MC cup was coated in black stuff so I'm thinking the MC might not be building proper pressure and the clutch isn't getting engaged properly. The clutch and cover were in such good shape I opted not to replace it, especially because the hub on the new Sachs clutch I bought was loose in the disc enough that I didn't feel comfortable installing it. So with that money saved I think I'll go ahead and throw a MC in it for the minimal cost.

They are Truck Lite LED headlights. The YJ in the picture above has basic H2 conversion housings with no wiring upgrades. Those were his HIGH beams against my low beams. haha I installed the Trucklites on my JK a few months ago. They are as advertised and I love them. The factory JK headlamps I thought were actually worse than my original stock MJ headlamps. You would think Chrysler could have fixed that in 21 years. :shake: Northridge 4x4 had a special for the two 7" round lamps and the Pulse Width Modulation adapter harnesses awhile back and I grabbed them. Now I'm going to replace the Hella e-codes and harness with the Trucklites too. Yea I don't think I'd ever go back to factory lights after owning these. Night visibility is a huge thing to me when it comes to my vehicles.
-
I love them! They light output is easily double the stock lights. A cheaper alternative might be using round LEDs and the brackets some people have for the factory fog mounts out there.
-
Thanks guys! I appreciate that! I'm this close as of last weekend! I've only put about 10 more miles on since then though! My buddy that bought my old XJ got a long arm setup for it so we were playing around at work with it.

I'm currently waiting on my rear ARB, air kit, and rear diff cover to come in so I can finally have my regear and lockers done. I also have a set of chromoly 30 spline inner and outer shafts for my Dana 30 as well as a pair of chromoly shafts for the 8.8. I picked up a set of TruckLites because I was tired of the poor visibility at night. Recently my slave cylinder started leaking on my BA10 and since my AX15 needs a rebuild I figure I'm going to just put a slave in this and go since it's still relatively low mileage. Luckily I have a new clutch and cover I was holding for the swap, so I'll go ahead and put that in too. I'm not sure why all of my links appear to have broken, I'll work on fixing those. My friend asked if he could take some pictures of the truck, and they came out pretty nice! Right now I've just rolled over 99k miles!

I got my winch mounted in the bumper and installed some cube LEDs on the stinger. I haven't wired any of it up just yet because my battery doesn't have enough CCA for the winch so I figure I'll wait and get a new one first. I had to recently replace the CPS, coil (again), and rotor (again). I also made a homebrew intake for the RENIX 4.0. Anyone think my CPS was bad? This was the early stage before I rerouted the hoses and put in a heatshield. Finished product.
-
Thanks man I appreciate that! I got my old bumper back and put it on today, I just need to mount my winch now!
-
I've been tracking my mileage since I lifted the truck. It's got the front shaft removed right now, but this is with the ba10, 33s, and the lift. Not too shabby!

I knew they looked familiar! I have the maxxis bighorn on my cherokee with about 30-40% thread and man they are awesome in the mud! Haven't gotten stuck yet! Your definitely going to love them.... Yea they're good tires from what I've seen, my friends wife works for Maxxis so he runs the Big Horns and they've done great for him! I put on some new outer glass seals because the old ones were so hard and brittle they were scratching my glass and breaking away. Not to mention they'd cut you if you put your arm up! I also had a spare mirror that I put on that wasn't faded out. The stabilizer was pretty shot so I went ahead and replaced that since pretty much everything else had already been done. I still need to take it in for an alignment to get the caster just right but it's been driving fine so far. And of course I had to get some pictures of it next to my old XJ which has changed a lot exterior wise. Rubicon Anvil paint, hood vents, armor to replace the old pocket flares, new front and rear bumper, WARN winch with OBA, etc.
