  1. This weekend I picked up AX-15 to swap in my 87 MJ with the Peugeot BA-10. I was unable to find a complete donor so I'm forced to find everything separate. My question is will my stock cross member work with the AX-15? Any other suggestions will be helpful. Thanks
  2. The clutch pedal broken on my 87 MJ. I removed all the bolts for the pedal assembly but one. The bottom bolt that connects to the assembly and the clutch master cylinder does not come out. What is the best way to remove this bolt? Can the bracket be welded back on without removing the assembly. Thanks
  3. Ok. while trying to bleed the master the pedal assembly broke off at the top. Whats the best way to get this fixed? Do you have to take the whole assembly out? This is driving me nuts. I wish I would of gotten an automatic instead.
  4. I bleed it using the lines on the bell housing. Where is the nipple on the body? How do you bleed it through the slave cylinder?
  5. I changed the master out and the clutch pedal still feels loose and not engaging. Could IT be that I didnt bleed it right or something else?
  6. It doesn't look to difficult to change but where would you bleed the fluid from?
  7. I have a 1987 MJ 2wd 5 spd while shifting gears the clutch pedal stayed on the floor and does not come back up. There is no leaking clutch fluid anywhere. Could this be the internal slave?
  8. If I wanted to swap to the Auto would I need to get a donor with the Renix engine 87-90. Thanks

  11. I have a 1987 MJ with the BA10 5 speed 4.0 I6 and I have been looking everywhere for a donor AX-15 with no luck. I have been looking for months. There are tons of XJ's with the AW4. How difficult will it be to swap to a automatic I'll probably find a donor and swap everything over along with the 4wd conversion. Any advice will help.
  12. Going to look at a 1995 Cherokee with 4.0 200k miles, AX 15 and 4wd it has rust underneath the interior don't match. The owner is asking 1300 obo. I only want the AX-15 and D30 to convert my Comanche. What would be a fair price to offer I don't want to over pay. Its difficult to find the AX-15 up here in Northern Virginia. Any input will help
  13. Went to JY today and picked up a electric fan. Does anyone know which wires from the wiring harness plug into the fan. I have plug with a black wire and a red wire with white stripe. I also have a plug with a yellow wire and grey wire. I know one go to the fan and the other goes to the temperature switch. Just need to know which one goes where?
  14. I have a 87 MJ 4.0 5 spd that is a base model. My jeep only has the one mechanical fan. Is this normal for MJ's with no AC to not have the electric fan. I don't think the PO took the electric fan out because the Jeep look unmolested when I got it. I have seen write ups for adding an override switch but I need the entire electric setup. I'm not really good when it comes to electrical stuff so I would need a system that's fairly easy to install. Thanks
  15. I have a 1987 MJ 4.0 5 spd with 88k on it with the closed system. Today stupid idiot light came on for the temperature gauge. I didn't see anything leaking. Anyone have any suggestions what it might be. Is there a way to test the closed system so that I don't have to throw parts at it. I know it can be anything from water pump, radiator, thermostat. Do the sensor have a tendency to go bad.
  16. I'm actually missing the far left relay. What I found online that's the AC clutch relay? I'll go back and freshen the relays also. Hopefully I can figure out the problem. thanks
  17. Does anyone know what the oxygen heater relay does? Checked the relays on the passenger side and there is one missing on the far right.
  18. It has a little play when you turn it. But the engine stays the same. This is driving me nuts I really don't want to take it to the shop. I havnt tested any of the other sensors. Are there any other sensors that can make it sputter while driving?
  19. This weekend I did Cruiser's tips 1-4, upgraded the batter cables from kelly works and changed the CPS. The truck idles a whole lot better and has better throttle response but still sputters. I must be missing something. I was looking at the distributer and it has a little play when I turn. The engine doesnt do anything when I move it. don't know if that's normal or not?
  20. Which CPS to get? There are several to choose? High altitude or without.

  22. My 1987 MJ 4.0 5spd 85k have been sputtering even after doing a complete tune up. Tested the CPS today and I'm getting .3 on the meter. Will a bad CPS cause the sputtering problems? The jeep cranks up fine. Also on the fuel pressure guage I got 30 psi with the vacuum connected and 38 psi disconnected. Any suggestions will be helpful. Thanks

Did a tune up to the MJ this weekend plugs, wires, fuel filter, cap and rotor it runs alot better but still sputters a little bit going from 1st to 2nd when I feather the gas when I get on the gas it runs great. Havent been able to check the fuel pressure yet but I'm thinking it has to do something with fuel pressure. This is my first Renix engine so I don't know how it should perform I have a 98 XJ that feels totally different when I drive. It feels like the extra horsepower in the 4.0 HO really makes a difference. Does anyone have a opinion on this.
