I'm guessing you have checked the coolant and exchanged it as needed? I know that the thought of someone else doing anything to your Comanche is horrible, but I know Sears offers Coolant Exchanges for about 85 bucks. Its a little more then what you can do in your drive way. Its a big pressurised machine they hook it up to and suck all the old out and put new in, no risk of getting air bubbles. I had mine done and it helped alot. I also had to take the aux fan off its auto switch thing as it was messed up and ran it to a switch in the dash so I could control it. I do plan on putting in hood Scoops to bring air into the engine thou. More for looks, but I want the functional. Good Luck.

Love the State Fair, but hate the traffic it brings in. Good to see that someone out there has heard of us thou. Most people I have to exlpain that we are close the Wichita. Even with the tourist attractions we have. The Fair, the Kansas Cosmosphere, the UnderGround Museum. Nothing, still gotta say Wichita. :)

Was browsing along and saw somebody that had a comandtrac logo. Did the Comanche have the comandtrac? Or quadratrac or anything?

It only bubbled when I took that cap off. Just for a sec. I've taken it off again and no bubbles. I replaced the master because of this problem so I really, really hope its not bad. Far as I can tell everything is dry. Gonna try bleeding some more this weekend. It's been to Dang hot to do any work lately. Will also check the lines. I appreciate everyone's suggestions.

A friend of mine has a 98 Cherokee with horrible suspension in the rear. Guessing he needs all new leaf springs not just an ad a leaf. Anybody lift there's and have the old springs laying around or something. Or know a place to pick some up cheap. Thanks

Took the cap off the master to check fluid lvl, as soon as air got to it I saw bubbles. Shifting problems for a day, now its shifting like a dream again. Think I've got a gremlin. :rant:

So as a purest, I was wondering if anyone had close up pictures of where all the logos and emblems go on your MJ. I have a 89 Pioneer and so far I have added the front JEEP letters and the Comanche thing on the front quarter panels. I was wondering tho about which models had the "4X4" logo under the little vents on the side, which would have the "Pioneer" log under the word Comanche, which would say "4.0L" on the tail gate. all of that. I want mine to be as close to original as possible when it comes to logos. Thanks!

Maybe when you get it all working you can come to Kansas and do mine? Nah but really tho you should post on the build page and put lots of pictures up and tell us all what it cost to do something like that. I know mine didnt have AC and that is the ONLY thing I don't like about my truck.

So, no note worthy picture to post, but to update everyone on the project. I fixed the dome lights so they turn on with the driver side door now. Figured out the problem completely by accident. I dropped the wire inside the door, and you know you have to be a trained monkey contortionist to get up there by the fuse box area, so I took the little rubber thing off that hides the wires leading to the speakers and what not. With the larger hole I discovered 2 wires, one of which had a broken part pc the door jam switch attached to it. Low and behold some genius had the wrong wire hooked up to the switch. Quick trip to the donor truck, bam my dome light comes on with the driver door. I know its not as exciting as lifting it or swapping the entire interior with an xj, but I'm a purest, and restoration is exciting to me!

Humm so say Jeep was still made by amc, competing against dodge and all that. Would you buy one then? Oh and say were not counting price, base the decision completely off your love for the truck, as if Jeep never came under the Chrysler name, as if the dodge Dakota never happened and Comanche trucks were still in production, never stopped, just kept getting better everyday. How awesome would that be?

How cool would it be if Jeep made a new Truck right now. Like the 2012 Jeep Grand Comanche! Would you buy one?

Ok call me crazy, but every once in a while when I go to my web browser and type in http://www.comancheclub.com it takes me to "the web ring" and theres a picture of the comanche club but I can't for the life of me get here. so I go up to history and click on http://www.comancheclub.com/index and there ya have it. So whats up with that?

I cry a little each time I see a Comanche in this shape, but then I think, god bless parts trucks. A moment of silence for fallen Comanches everywhere.

Oh an the topper is in great condition, I plan on keeping it and using it for fishing trips and what not. I'm storing it on my shortbed donor truck and it sticks out a foot so its really goofy there. Will try and find some pics of it, and I gotta post pics of the sunroof on thus thing too. With your MJ, the works never done.

Yep I am in reno county in Hutchinson Ks. :D will get the handle painted on the tail gate. Is my grill really upside down, cause ill have to kick myself if so. I always pay such close attention to minor details that I can't believe I would do that! It still looks better painted at least!
