  4. it is steel that is pulled apart to make a grate. you see it alot on mower trailers and tailer ramps. it will be covered with rubber conveyer belt. when i took the old bed to the scrap yard they paid me for 300lbs of scrap.
  5. well it is getting closer to completion its out of the garage at least. getting 31's wed and will figure which lift to go with. It is all tempted together because as i lift it the spacers can be lowered. the tank has me baffled it did not line up right so i'm going to fab som type of hanger for it. then finish the rest of the body. gotta find some expanded steel for the bed also. still only weighs 100lbs. 16. To remove the bed from my manche? 1...2...3...where's the torch? actually 8 for the bed, 3 for the e-brake, 3 tank hooks and 2 exhaust hangers and don't forget to free up the wiring harness. I started the removal of the bed and building of the new frame. more pics to come. any suggestions on inexpensive mods for a 2wd, I made 2 inch spacers in the front. will be swapping the stock coils for coils out of a v8 grand cherokee, should add another inch. 22. hello, wonderful site it has helped me out several times. I have an '86 2wd, long bed that was a birthday present last year from the kids. Only cost $150 (125 was for the wheels). Love it been totaled 2x's since and they keep giving it back to me. Pretty stock, only a 2" front lift so far, plan on some other changes soon. Biggest will be removing the bed, easier then patching. Will send pics as soon as I figure out how. When the bed falls I will be getting rid of a cap, liner, tailgate, lights and flares, varying condition from great(cap) to ok(tailgate). So I will keep y'all posted. thanks bill
