1989 Jeep Mike

Oops. Since everyone likes a truck full of gravel, here is a typical picture of my Big Ton long bed loaded with a cubic yard of 1" for my long driveway.

Over the last almost 60 years I have had a number of new trucks, including a Chevy and a Ford, but the Comanche I bought new in 1989 has been the best overall vehicle by far. Sure, the Ford 150 Lariat Crew Cab was more comfortable, and the Chevy Luv was the least expensive vehicle I ever bought, but the Chevy couldn't carry much of anything and the Ford got poor MPG and had mechanical issues quickly. The Comanche, on the other hand, has cost almost nothing over 37 years, has moved hundreds of tons of gravel and wood, and just keeps rolling along.

When I posted in 2020 my post name was Siskiyou Mike, but the other day I failed to find my login name and password (I'm 76 and about as sharp as an orange). Tried doing "forgot password", but nothing showed up in my email, so I decided to create a new account. I am now called 1989 Jeep Mike, which is fine with me. Anyway, my longbed Jeep is still rolling along. Used it to move firewood yesterday, and then took a huge load of stuff to the dump. It never fails to start, and always gets me where I want to go, though the driver's door hing is a bit wonky, and the springs squeak like a dog's toy some times. On another topic, while loading the firewood yesterday, I noticed my old camper top and a four Jeep rims sitting there. When I am allowed post in the classified section I will offer the camper top (custom made for a longbed) and rims free to anyone that will use them (rather than just someone looking to resell).
