  1. Happy holidays all, just wanted to close this case, fuel pump replaced, gets up and goes now. Yes, I still read the gas gauge backwards, not a game stopper though. Adapt, overcome, move forward. Thank you all for your advice/ ideas. Now I can dedicate time to replacing the seats on my nifty replacement "risers", thank you again krustyballer16, and getting it loaded onto the registry.
  2. To clarify, I had a full tank when testing prime pressure, i knew I had to drain tank to replace the pump/ float assembly, and working with no trained flashlight holder, limited daylight and low (rural NY) daytime temperatures, I focused on draining the tank. I should have tested pressure while jumping the pump relay as well, while draining tank. Continuing to accept recommendations/ advice/ even trash talk. I will update thread when pump has been replaced, due in Monday 12/23.
  3. Dually noted sir, thank you
  4. The motor/ drivetrain swap was accomplished years ago, prior to myself and most recent p/o. it appears to be utilizing original equipment modified to the modern set up. Again, any suggestions appreciated
  5. Sorry, typo, MTS Company
  6. 1989 MJ has been a bit sluggish, can't get of the way of itself, backfiring, originally didn't want to idle. Initial OBD codes were 27, 14, 51, 27, cleared 27 & 14, 51 (heated O2 sensor input indicates lean air/fuel ratio during engine operation, adaptive memory at rich limit) & 27 (injector output driver does not respond properly to SBEC (PCM) control signal) remain Cleaned up 1996 transplant XJ 4.0 mill (& automatic drivetrain) throttle body (60mm), replaced fuel filter, IAC, MAP, fuel regulator. Ran better (much better in reverse), getting up to 45 mph with fuel regulator vacuum line disconnected, still a dog with it connected. Next step replace fuel pump, although I did not test jumpered fuel pump relay, initial prime pressure is a consistent 22-23psi, as I have (safely) removed most of the 18 gallons that were in the tank. I see others have ordered and installed MTX Company JPSU-6P4.0 with the EFPK-3204 fuel pump, for the (original?) 18 gallon fuel tank with side mount fuel pump. I ordered this set up today. Has anyone had any experience with this set up, experienced any pit-falls, additional modifications required? (Jeremy/ MTX suggested this pump has a much higher pressure), or could it actually be a like-for like replacement and I can get back on the road?
  7. Clearance, Clarence, got it, but still not over Macho Grande
  8. Never had an issue with any of rear windows, jeep dog hasn't been trained to use them, yet.
  9. To the best of my knowledge, the power windows are factory, as they have the door locks in the same panel, very similar to my SJ window controls, I haven't gotten that far with the VIN lookup. Yes, my CJ 7 vent windows did leak a little, YJ do not leak, and once I swap to the manual windows, I'll never have to find a window regulator, like on my WJ (3rd regulator)
  10. I encountered this issue with my 90 YJ, found a suction cup style rear view mirror, on-line and I'm hooked. Needed one for my MJ as well, on the shelf at a national brand auto parts store, $25. But surface prep is key as well.
  11. Good morning all, please get out and vote today. 31 years as a Jeep owner, but new MJ owner, looking for guidance. I'm interested in swapping out the 89 MJ power windows, replacing with manual, and the fixed forward window with an opening (butterfly) vent window. Sounds like a pending classified post to me. Has anyone performed this swap? Will a 4 door XJ set up work in this situation? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
  12. Loaded VIN in XL spreadsheet, I see number broken out, no additional information though Is there a "submit" anywhere?
  13. Good afternoon, new MJ owner, looking for details on purchasing your manufactured MJ drivers and passengers seat risers.

Are they texts or a paper note? Cuz I'm not sure how they'd get ahold of you about this package. I get scam usps texts weekly...

  14. Thank you Eagle_SX4 & krustyballer16, do you want a private message or order on this thread?
  15. Elwiscon Have you installed the corbeau set brackets yet? looking for MJ seat riser options.
  16. Good day all, newest addition to the family, 1989 MJ, modded, engine, drivetrain, suspension, cab, bed. Looking to contact anyone having luck with finding/ making bucket seat risers. Previous owner installed XJ risers, not the most secure, but drivers seat has a nice rocking motion to it. Can a bench seat set of risers be used to secure bucket seats? Are there any year XJ's that direct mount? I have access to a pair of 1989 ZJ front seats, but need proper mounts to secure them. I do see a member (krustyballer16 who has manufactured them in the past, maybe as recently as early October 2024. I would like to have a conversation regarding purchasing them, especially if there are no known alternative solutions. Thank you in advance
