Last week I went to the scrap yard and while I was there my MJ died, not thinking too much about it, jumped back in the truck and all she did was crank over. I’d had this issue before and wiggled the wires on the coil but nothing. I pushed the coil wire that runs to the distributor cap on, still nothing, I pushed it on the coil as far as I could and it started up! Got it home and notice the thin coat of electrical grease was making the wire slide down the tapered neck losing contact. I crimped the metal clip inside the coil wire but that didn’t work for very long so I cleaned the grease off the coil and coil wire measured to make sure the metal clip was on the metal part of the coil and put a small hose clamp to keep it in place. It runs and idles much better and hopefully will not have that issue again. Hope this helps someone else out!!

Yikes!! I’m just taking my time going through the engine right now. It’s running a little rough and seems to crank over several times before it starts. I plan on giving it a tuneup and checking the fuel injectors. I also want to check the timing chain and gears. I had a CJ that ran rough, and when I changed the timing gears and chain, it ran as smooth as could be. Checking the timing on it will tell me if the gears are worn.

I have a 1990 Comanche with a 4.0 engine. I’m considering either cleaning the injectors or replacing them. Any suggestions? If I should replace them, what do you recommend? This is a stock truck, so nothing fancy is needed. Thanks, Scott

Does anyone have a picture of their engine bay where the wiring is near and clean looking? also, does anybody have an idea how I can cover up the crankshaft posit sensor hole? The grommet that went in there is missing on mine.

Are those stock size tires? Or bigger? 2” lift is perfect in my opinion 😊
