  3. cool ill see if i can find the one in my area actually theres 2
  4. Good job buddy looks good keep us posted on new updates!
  5. After rereading your post I see now your speaking more along the lines of tierods draglinks etc.I use etching primer and the hammertone hammered black so when you scratch it it will blend back better during touch up and it looks COOL!or I use chassis saver its like por15 only better!
  6. i use a self etching primer or an automotive primer rustoleum after i scuff up and wipe and you can also use rustoleum bedliner its $9 a can but it sticks like crazy ands it way tougher than just paint and you can also paint it if blacks not your color.
  7. Red was the easiest for now and prob his second color choice anyway.next yr ill replace cab corners and rockers prob paint it black then. Sodablasting co worked for an hr they did floorboard axle springs seat brackets and cleaned up the mess a little for $160 Ya I realize its unibody I will just rebuild the rear actual frame and add strength to the unibody while I'm at it.
  8. Yes my fenders are trimmed with a jigsaw/sawzall very easy I have rokmen hylines just don't have them installed yet.ya tubing your stock fenders is pretty easy just trim the top of the fender out to whatever coverage you want and weld some tubing directly to them add some bracing.
  9. i actually found out today while doing my project chassis saver works better on a rough surface like rust it sticks to the rust and stops it from spreading.
  10. Glad you asked I've been needing to add that to my login forever its kinda frustrating having to ask for peoples info....wichita ks their super hard to find around here after my search for my sons and learning more I missed one a long time ago that was perfect just didnt know it at the time.I found a 2wd manual 4cyl no rust here needs some work for best offer but I'm little worked out for now.id pay for transfer if the trucks right.does the 86 have the gm motor?I'm not to hip on that motor.
  11. I'm thinking about buying a comanche for a daily driver for myself. As some of you know i just bought my son one and have a build thread going on it right now.I have and have had several jeeps and have a love hate relationship with the 4.0.As of right now i think i prefer a 4cyl with auto 4x4.I want good mpg but I'm tired of shifting and need 4x4 to get around.I'm talking with a member about his and if he were closer i would have already bought it.I'm still searching for ways to get it here cheaper.anyway i wanna hear your mpg and setup tires, gears, stock not whatever.i did some research and didnt see alot of numbers.also are the 4cyl carb or TB?i also saw there is a comfort switch in all autos?that control the shifting points. Thanks Men!
  12. ill get some better pics of finished floor so you guys that are intrested in soda blasting can see.then ill be starting on the chassis saver.i also during all this fixed several other small things i didnt post like the taillight wiring was all cut and tore up i fixed that. and i made my own vacume lines to the CAD didnt turn out how i saw it but that axle will find its way to the salvage yard eventually so i really don't care much about that. AND PLEASE EVERYONE bare with me I'm the worlds worst typer guy i really don't talk like this. :wall:
  13. fat fenders soda blasting is here! done! had them do my leafs and D44 i know they will be kept my frame is pretty rusty it will get some chassis saver and in couple years will be replaced with new frame and cage
  14. new panels and paint bedlined the cowl
  15. bedlined the new fenders i got from 87warrior finished the gas tank didnt spend much time on this ruffed it up primed and painted couple coats each
  16. after researching my chassis saver it actually adhears better to rust than smooth surface as long as theres no bubbles of course.it literally attacks the rust sticks to it and will bond metal to metal you can glue 2 pieces of metal together with it nasty stuff! good thing cuz my frame is rusting.
  17. i have no experience with either my buddy used por15 on his bronco and it rusted thru it!I'm using chassis saver i get it from a guy that sells monstaliner on another forum.it must be bare metal or it won't stick but it seems to work well there are tons of success stories on the forum about it.i know i can run 2 or 3 coats let it dry and hit it with a wrench pretty damn hard and it won't chip.ill be using it in my build thread in the mj project section on the floor and frame.it also is in tub under my monstaliner in my rubicons tub and will be going on my 1 tons I'm putting in it.
  18. well you guys have me a little worried here I'm having them come to get rid of my floor board rust and some on the leafpacks so i can put some chassis saver on them and keep from rusting more.does it not blast the rust off?
  19. ok gotcha that makes sense ill cal the almighty jeep guru my buddy andy and drive it straight over there after I'm done to have it patched up glad you caught that thanks!
  20. glad you mentioned that, that hole is in front of the sway bar almost to the front end of the frame.its on both sides its ripped all the way down the metal is rolled up from being ripped it literally looks like a perfect curl. but its way in front of the track bar though you can see the swaybar in the pic its in front of that.so what do you guys think its from?I'm having a tough time loading pics let alone get bigger ones but i can try.sorry i reread your post you said in front of the trackbar mount my bad i had read it as you were saying it was the trackbar.but yes they were 2 perfect holes with something in them that was ripped straight down.could it have been something to do with the factory skid?it was bent up laying in the bed ive never seen how one mounts but those holes are big way bigger than the skid plate mounting holes.i tell you what it looks like is someone had some kind of aftermarket swaybar thru the holes i doubt that though on this truck????? :dunno:
  21. i have a soda blasting moble unit coming in the am to blast the floor and some of the frame.I'm tryn to keep cost way down on a budget here. remember i had no idea i was gunna have to do any of this!we sanded primed and bedlined the wheel wells around the doors around the radiator etc.i did get some paint on and couple panels too ill get pics up soon.
  22. i have to put the newest pics on my computer so they will come within the next couple days thats it for now :waving:
  23. then we started to sand and tape off for priming and painting... and ended up with this bedlined the back of the cab and fender wells and got some tera trac Hercules m/t's
  24. so we pulled off the gas tank and the e brake then went to town to the bed off.
  25. front floorboard in front fender lots of build up on the right side mostly, on everything!
