I normally get 19mpg +- around town and 20-21 on the hiway. I estimate that AC use drops mileage by 1/2 to 1 mpg. Best I've ever done is 22.6 driving slow in the Keys. Most always 300+ between fillups. 88 Pioneer 4wd, 4.0L, poojoe 5, 200k+, 18.5 gal tank, 235X15 tires. I ♥ my truck.

Some time ago I replaced my original Thermo fan for a viscous fan without themostatic sensing thinking it was bad. I later discovered that apparently the earlier fan drive was OK and the overheating was due to a bad connection at the electric fan relay [since repaired]. Anyone got an idea of the consequent fuel mileage handicap. I.E. is it worth installing a new thermo drive?

Ride in the cab with the AC on. Shouldn't bother you then.
