Recently while driving I've noticed that I have to push harder on the brake pedal then I used to. Coming to complete stops, especially down hill, are very difficult. I'm assuming the brake booster has gone bad but before I replace it I just thought Id ask to see if there's anything else that could cause this.

Thanks, I appreciate the insight

The front end engine noise was diagnosed as the alternator and idler pullies. Does this sound reasonable and is there anything else that could possibly have been damaged like the water pump and power steering pump?
-
Thanks, I will do that. I'm also planning on taking it into a shop to have it checked out as the sounds are getting worse and I am not very experienced. I know its probably fine, however it is my daily and I don't want to chance it.

It hasn't taken long for noises to pop up. I've now got a squealing sound from the front of the engine; I think its mostly from the alternator but maybe other accessories too. And some lifter noise. Mabey my imagination but the clutch feels like its engaging later than it used too.

The 2.5 and 4.0 are both non-interference engines

Everything seems to be fine, I haven't noticed any weird noises.

Today I was driving my Comanche when I meant to downshift from 5th to 4th but missed 4th and it went into 2nd. I quickly pushed in the clutch but the rpm still got close to 7k. It seems to not have damaged anything as it still runs fine. Is there anything I should be worried about? I have the 2.5L with an ax5.

I'm currently working on installing a bass tube and I'm having trouble routing the rca lines behind the dash to the head unit. I have the wires coming up to the dash from the passenger side. The problem I'm having is that there doesn't seem to be enough space behind the dash to add any more wires going up to the head unit. Any Ideas?

WJ sway bar upgrade
CheepComanche replied to CheepComanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I've not been able to find any relocation brackets to finish this swap. All the relocation brackets that I've found only move the sway bar down. What I really need is one that moves the sway bar forward rather than down. I'm considering building a custom bracket or getting one built. -
XJ rear sway bar on MJ
CheepComanche replied to Anthi4078's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I was looking at the Addco rear sway bar a while back and saw that it said no drilling and "bolt on" on the website. Maybe I'm missing something but I can't see how it would be a direct bolt on. -
WJ sway bar upgrade

Thanks for the build thread! Ideally I would like to complete the conversion with relocation brackets. I read on the Cherokee Forum that this swap could be done with relocation brackets to eliminate the drilling. -
WJ sway bar upgrade

I know I've already mentioned this and thanks for the the sway bar info thus far. I have a WJ bar and am seeking information on adapting that to a MJ/XJ. -
WJ sway bar upgrade
CheepComanche replied to CheepComanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I already have the WJ sway bar and would like to use it as I'm not very interested in buying another sway bar. IIRC the WJ sway bar is 32mm which is nice. Its only a little bigger than stock and needs to be moved forward a few inches to clear the coils. -
WJ sway bar upgrade
CheepComanche replied to CheepComanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I do see a few holes in front of the sway bar bracket. However, none of them are threaded or in the right place to mount the sway bar to. -

It looks like you can buy sway bar relocation mounts. Would it be possible to use those to move the WJ sway bar forward? -
I recently picked up a sway bar from a WJ with the intentions of it being a direct fit. After a bit of research I found that it isn't a direct fit but is very easy to mount by drilling a couples holes in the frame and moving the sway bar mounts forward. Drilling holes in the frame does not excite me and would rather not do anything irreversible. This probably isn't possible but I thought I'd give it a chance.

A couple questions about my Comanche
CheepComanche replied to CheepComanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Thanks so much for all the insight! I'll get work replacing that trans mount. In the meantime, my main focus is the center console. I know its probably nothing and it doesn't cause any problems but it does bother me and would like to resolve it if possible. -

I have it put back together now, but from looking at pictures its definitely a late 90s tj/yj shifter. -

So would the new mount resolve the issue where the shifter interferes with the center console? -

The transfer case is an np207. I'll get more information off the tag in a bit but here are a couple more photos I have. One facing towards the front and the other facing the rear. -
