  1. Ok sweet, I’m glad everything will fit fine. I’d be willing to trade and I’ll be sure to grab a few pictures before I take stuff out. It will probably be this weekend I’ll be going again. Is there any areas in specific you want pictures of?
  2. Hey I was at the junkyard this weekend and found a what I believe to be 84 2dr XJ with a tilt wheel, cruise and intermittent wipers. I’m thinking about going back and grabbing the whole thing including maybe the steering box since mine is popping. I’m wondering if it will all bolt right in and if the intermittent wipers and module will plug into my current harness. Also I’m wondering how much of the cruise control system will work on mine since I have a 4.0 and this has some 4cyl. Thanks, Andre
  3. Ok, I’ve been looking at wiring diagrams for my truck (87 4.0) and as far as I can tell the low wash light shares a ground with all the gauges so If we just send 12v to pin 15 (WHT-GRN) on the B connector it should light the indicator light.
  4. Hey sorry if there’s already a post about this somewhere but I can’t find it. I was recently at a junkyard and grabbed a washer bottle with a sensor out of a Cherokee. I’m wondering what all is involved in hooking the sensor up to the light in the dash. When I had it apart to do the 4wd conversion I put socket/bulb into the spot for the low wash warning in case I ever wanted to add it so I’m hoping it’s as easy as hooking the sensor into some pre existing wiring and being done with it. Thanks for the help, Andre
  5. This was it. Went under last night and found that I had pinched it between the frame and the bed. Pulled it out of there and couldn’t visibly see any rub throughs although I imagine there’s probably one in there somewhere. Took it on a test drive leaving the signal on and repetitively tapping the brakes and nothing blew. Also was fine all today. Thinking about it afterwards it always seemed to happen turning left so I’d imagine the problem is with the wire for the Left Turn/Brake. Thanks for the help, Andre
  6. Hey everyone, I’m having a very mind boggling electrical issue with my 87 4.0. It started last night on my way home when I was waiting to turn at a light with the music up loud. Randomly just sitting there the radio shut off for a second and the rebooted and I had lost turn signals. When I got home I found out the brake light fuse had also blown. So I figured I must have had the radio up too loud or something and drew too much current so I replaced the two fuses. Later that night I was driving again and it was fine for a few turns/stops and then at another one it repeated what had happened previously. I gave up and drove the rest of the way with them blown. Today on the way to work I replaced them again and turned the radio down to 0 for the whole trip. I made it almost the whole way (about 22km) and then waiting to turn at a light again it repeated with blowing both fuses. Unfortunately I wasn’t watching the radio so I don’t know if it shut off. After work I replaced just the brake light fuse and after a few minutes of driving that blew so then I pulled over and replaced just the turn signal fuse and it worked for about one turn and then I put them on to see if they were still working and one blink and then the radio cut out and fuse blew. This is really confusing me as they seem to be independent from each other but both involve the rear lights and somehow the radio. Also the headlights being on or off doesn’t seem to affect it. Sorry for the long post but any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Andre
  7. Hey I’ve got a 87 Comanche and the interior lights won’t come on when you open the drivers door. The passenger door will turn them all on so I know they all work. The weird thing is that the drivers door will still activate the buzzer if you leave the key in or headlights on but it won’t turn on the lights. So I know the truck knows the doors open it’s just not turning the lights on. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
  8. Hey I’m almost done my conversion and I working on the indicator light. I read that the original vacuum switch for the light was under the coolant bottle. The only connector I can find is the one in the photo so I’m wondering if that is it or does my truck not have the wiring since it’s a 2wd
  9. Hey I’m about to buy a new belt for my 1987 4.0 without AC. There is a belt listed for no AC and it’s 73.03” and the belt with AC is 102.56. I’m wondering what is the proper belt since there is a idler where the AC compressor would go so I don’t see why the length would change. Thanks
  10. Hey Everyone, I’m currently swapping a 231 out of a 87 Cherokee into my 2wd Comanche and I’m wondering if anyone knows of a switch that will screw into where the old vacuum switch did so I can hook up the indicator light since I got rid of all the vacuum crap. Thanks
  11. Ok so I actually ended up finding a junkyard like 10 minutes from my house that had a manual Cherokee. I took the trans, transfer case, front driveshaft and front axle. The Cherokee was a 1987 Cherokee Chief two door with the 4.0 and a ba-10. I’m wondering since my truck has the same transmission and there the same year if I could just take the tail shaft off my transmission and bolt the transfer case to it. Any insight would be helpful, thanks.
  12. I’m located in Guelph, Ontario
  13. Hey everyone, I purchased my MJ back in January and I’ve been wanting to convert it to 4WD since. I think I’m finally ready but I had some questions as to what parts I’m gonna need to collect to make the switch. I’ve seen a bunch of other threads on doing this conversion but none were exactly my truck so I just wanna be sure. Ok so my truck is a 1987 2WD 4.0 with the Ba-10 transmission and a Dana 44 rear axle. I would like to keep it manual but can’t find any manual Cherokees being junked around me, so what I’m wondering is if I could take the front axle, driveshaft, and linkages and what not out of a old automatic Cherokee, and then try and get a AX-15 paired with a NP-231 or 242 out of a old YJ or TJ. Any information would be of help, thanks
  14. Ah ok, it’s a 2wd so I don’t have that but thanks for the info
  15. Hey everyone, I was cleaning up my 87 Mj and I noticed this second connector coming from the same place as the drivers seatbelt sensor wires. I can’t figure out what it’s for so if anyone knows please let me know. Thanks
