  1. is that what the bubbling in the Coolant tank is?
  2. does the coolant just leave the overfill tank on its own? if not then how do you get the coolant to drain from the overfill tank
  3. the upper radiator hose is the hose that i replaced and lost the coolant from originally. the issue is I'm not sure how much i really lost when i changed it.
  4. i have the same setup as the pictures in the link above. 4.0L with the plastic overfill bottle.
  5. i did loosen the smaller hose on the thermostat housing and coolant started coming out. does that mean there's enough coolant in the system? i keep seeing bubbling in the coolant reservoir so i figured that the air was trapped and needed to get out somehow.
  6. NEED HELP! I'm totally stupid when it comes to the comanche coolant system. i had to change a coolant hose the other day and lost some coolant in the process. i added some to the overfill tank but i don't think any went back into the system. i have ran it and got it up to temp a few times and still don't notice a change in volume in the overfill tank. I'm not totally sure how much coolant i lost but i would have thought more would have left the overfill by now. my question is, can i just remove the coolant reservoir cap and run it to get the air out of the system? also, is it bad to run it with air in the system? i have the dummy light and its never come on so i don't think its over heated yet. but i don't know if having air in the system is a problem or not. any help or advice would be appreciated.
  7. Question, would this all be the same process if i wanted to just slide the bed back enough to paint in between the bed and cab? would i still need to drop the gas tank?
  8. the one i used i think was a bosch. might have to try and find a junk yard one to replace it with.
  9. i replaced the o2 sensor with an aftermarket one and it didnt look the same as the original. i wasnt able to find an oem sensor so i just went with the aftermarket. could this be the cause? do all o2 sensors look the same or can they look different and still work? still new to all of this.
  10. i don't have a copy at the moment. i will be running it through again tomorrow to see if it will pass. i did find a small exhaust leak just before the cat. not sure if this would be significant enough to fail emissions. ive never really worked on a car that didnt pass emissions so all this is kinda new to me. ive replaced the spark plugs and had some seals replaced. it was having a hard time starting when i first got the truck but seems to start better. could this be a low compression problem?
  11. I've been trying for months now to get my 1987 Comanche to pass emissions in DE. it keeps failing with high Carbons. I've replaced the o2 sensor, ran smoke tests for leaks, and tried running "Guaranteed to Pass" in my fuel. when i bought the truck it was tagged in Maryland which didn't have emissions tests. and the charcoal canister wasn't hooked up (red Flag). could the charcoal canister be bad? any ideas as to what is make it fail? its the 4.0l inline 6. its also failing the gas tank pressurizing test. could these issue be related? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  12. i ended up getting mine blasted and powder coated with the "polished Aluminum" from Prismatic. they turned out great! havnt put them on the comanche yet though.
  13. What color powder coat did you use? And what was the brand?
  14. i like it!! do you think a 31x10.5 tire would fit on them? I'm looking to lift my comanche but i would like to keep the stock rims if i can. just not sure if the tires will be to big after i lift it. ideally i would like 32x11.5 r15 but that just seems unrealistic for a 7" wide rim
