  1. Hodson Motors has a good one as well that I just bought, super simple style which I'm a fan of. https://hodsonmotors.com/collections/comanche-merch/products/87-comanche-short-sleeve
  2. @eaglescout526 if I’m reading this right, my truck did not come with a factory sport bar. I’m about to buy a SWB bar. Should just need the right brackets and drill through the bed for the bolts I think, yeah?
  3. What do y'all use to search junkyards' inventory? Any good online tools?
  4. There's another on my same street actually, but it's in pretty rough shaped. There's another guy in town who chopped an XJ into a crew-cab comanche, but I haven't been able to talk to him yet. Other than those two, I only see a different one about every 3 months.
  5. If I still lived on the East Coast I would 100% be there! May try to swing by without my MJ if I can ge in the area for work.
  6. Anyone know where I can find a shortbed Sport Bar? I'm in the PNW, but willing to pay for shipping. I really like an original Comanche sport bar, but I'm also looking at this: https://realtruck.com/p/go-rhino-bed-bars/v/jeep/comanche/1988/
  7. Took first place in the 1981-1999 Trucks category at my local car show. I haven’t done too much to the truck since I acquired except for some paint touch up on the trim, new A/C compressor, and new radiator. New tires are coming in the next few weeks. Hopefully adding a leveling kit to the front coils to even it out. I’m REALLY tempted to lift it and throw 33”s on, but damn it looks good at stock height.
  8. 1988 Jeep Comanche Pioneer (that's been turned into a Chief) 4.0 I6 Auto, 4x4 Build date: NOV 1987 Current Location: Tri-Cities, Washington Status: Running great! Daily driver/Home Depot runner Notes: White paint with aftermarket custom Chief decals, Marchal lights, Bench seat (cloth), Column shift, Open cooling system conversion, Limo tint on sides and back Current owner: Yours truly. Bought from someone who bought it from @MJCARENA
  9. Resurrecting this topic as my new maintenance thread :) Sorry @MJCARENA for your loss of this beauty, but I promise to keep her clean. I bought it from a young guy here in the Tri-Cities, Washington. He said he wanted a rust-free Comanche, so he drove down to AZ and bought this one and drove it back up. He only had it about a year. I'm so damn thankful he didn't touch it. He wanted to lift it and rock crawl it, but (luckily for me) he needed the money and let it go to me for $9,000 with 185k miles on the odo (but looks like it was rebuilt around 35k miles ago) I thought at the time I had overpaid a little, but after seeing all the love that went into this truck, I think I got a deal. And for anyone worried, this is the dry side of Washington state. She'll be garage parked and washed weekly, and I'll watch for rust. I'd be happy to hear any tips for maintenance for a new owner! Only thing I can't get to work are the Marchal driving lights with the switch inside, so that'll be my first project.
  10. Found his build topic, I'll resurrect this over there:
  11. Yes that's who I spoke to, @MJCARENA. I'm glad I rescued it from that kid's hands. I'm not sure he knew what he had. I plan to keep this thing looking as stock as I can. I want my future son to drive this thing!
  12. Hey there! I just found this forum as I bought a 1988 Comanche (4x4, I6 4.0, Auto), and a ComancheClub.com card was inside. I bought this in central Washington, and the guy I bought it from said he found it on a Phoenix-based marketplace in Arizona about a year ago. I've searched the VIN (1JTMP63P0JT090046) but don't see it in the registry. There's been a lot of work done on this puppy, and it looks super clean. The engine was rebuilt a few years ago so there's only around 40k(ish) miles on it. This is my all-time dream truck in my dream configuration! Luckily I found the contact details of the guy in Arizona who did most of the restoration work on it, and just gave him a call. He said he'd like to see pictures of what it looks like now, and told me about this forum and that I should post them here. So here she is! I'm keeping this baby as pristine as I can. Thanks man! ...now what? Post in the registry? Sorry if this post is in the wrong spot, I'm new here. Stoked to learn the ins and outs of this truck though!
