  1. That was my thought as well, another thing I wanted was simplicity while choosing parts and this kit just takes a lot of the thinking out of what parts to pick.
  2. Thanks I found a Stoker kit from Clegg. I talked to my local machinist about their kit and he said that their kits look pretty good. https://www.cleggengine.com/jeep-4-0-stroker-kits.html
  3. No I'm replacing the 2.5 that was in it.
  4. I'm doing an engine swap on my 86 Comanche. I will be stroking and boring it. I'll also be posting parts that i am using. Anybody have some advice?
  5. This is true, but for me i've had nothing but problems with it. Although I might be because I live a mile above sea level.

Notes: The sports bar was added to my truck as an option. 5 Speed manual on the floor. Deep blue exterior teal interior with the bench seat. Current owner: Me
  7. The only thing that I would say is somewhat difficult to work on with these trucks would be the vacuum system. I've had a lot of problem with eh vacuum system on my 86 Comanche. Another thing to look out for would be the renix system as mentioned earlier. Its the worst system Iv every worked with and if you have problems with the engine doing weird things the I would recommend just replacing the engine management system with a new one.
  8. This might sound kind of stupid but I would check to see if the spark plug wires are on all the way. I had a problem where I wasn't able to push the plug wires on all the way. I had to push up the plug boot and put the wire on the spark the plug directly on then slide the boot back over the connection.
  9. Another thing that you could do if there are no vacuum leaks would be to adjust the idle speed motor. At the front of the throttle body there should be a little motor that pushes on the throttle body linkage. I don't remember the correct way to adjust it but it just screws in and out. Another thing would be to check the TPS and MAP sensors.
