  1. I'll send her another message telling her to check out the club!
  2. I offered to buy them but someone beat me to it. Apparently she sold 3 comanches this week, two red and a grey one. Too bad I wanted those parts and trucks. I guess I have to be faster but I was just trying to line up a couple tows.
  3. She has 2 comanches. I am worries about the sketchy floor repairs done so I am wondering if the trucks are not in great shape if they are worth all the parts they come with. She wants 4500 CAD for one and 1500 for the other. I could proabably get both for 5k or less. Here is the add 1988 Comanche Mj with cap excellent body bad paint. Standard 4x4. Needs finishing. Started axle swap for Ford axles (44/9) that come with arb air lockers got the front axle in but need to put the rear axle in and set up up. Currently drives but not road worthy until the swap is done. Comes with bead lock rims and 35” tires. The tires rims locker setup and axles are worth well over $4000 on their own. https://www.facebook.com/commerce/listing/370516580632128/?media_id=4&ref=share_attachment
  4. Hi Everyone, so not a commanche but I passed by this ad for an old 76 wrangler and I'm thinking I should pick it up. He wants to trade for a dirt bike for his son so I sent him a few options and he is happy with one of my bikes. I was wondering, is this thing with a rotten frame still worth atleast $1000? I could trailer this and bring it to my friends farm and have some fun with it but I don't think it would be roadworthy without building a new frame and dropping the Jeep back on. Let me know your thoughts and if I am getting into something crazy it has a running 304 V8
  5. Is there a list of what models have HP stock? or do I just look at the placement of the driveshaft I found a 1998 XJ that I think would be a good parts vehicle as long as the axles arent too rusty. I could also use some of the body panels and the power windows so I was thinking this would be a good donor vehicle. Would this have the axle setup I need? And would I only have to change the front? If this is the right Jeep I will get it in the next week or so and have most of the parts to fix my manche Thanks again guys https://www.kijiji.ca/v-cars-trucks/stratford-on/1998-jeep-cherokee-xj-lifted/1539187872?undefined
  6. So at this point I will be looking for as setup from a 95-99 XJ with a 4.10 for the easiest install and strongest setup?
  7. Whats your best advice for finding a whole new axle? Its going to need a bunch of new hardware anyways so the new axle may be the way to go.
  8. Haha so at this point I have replacement Ujoints that I can put in but I'm wondering if it makes sense to just replace the axles to the 95-99. Or do I have to change more than just the axles in order to do that? I was also wondering if you can see the vaccuum on this one and if it is CAD I think I want to keep it as original as possible and maybe upgrade the axles if it makes sense Next time I go up I am just going to start tearing it all apart
  9. Did everyone go back to work or somethin?
  10. Hey Gogo, I uploaded some pictures of my axles. Let me know what you think! Big project or small, were going for it! This Jeep has 24,500 on the dash, if only it was parked inside. Hoping for the best on the internals. When I took off the front wheels there were still the original washers on the bolts on the wheel hubs! Cheers, Joe
  11. So mine is a 2.5 5 Speed manual, and here are some pictures my buddy sent me. Sorry they might not be the best shots, I will take some axle wide shots when I go up there next. Let me know what you think and welcome to my mess haha! The more I learn about these Jeeps the more interested I become in them
  12. Thanks for the info Gogmorgo, I sent a message to ask more about the axle and get some pictures. It would be nice to find the whole assembly, otherwise I think the plan is two new axles from a 95+ and some new hardware because a lot of mine are a little too rusty to go back in, and probably won't be fun to get out either
  13. haha well hopefully noone on the form tries to outbid ya, I think I am just going to keep an eye out but they are just getting more and more rare! I figured my Jeep has time while its under the knife
  14. Thanks, I'm new to the 4X4 world so from what I know the main difference is High Pinion is a little stronger. Is that true? If mine is high currently, I wouldn't mind keeping it the same or better. I will get some pics up tonight so it's not just me bombarding with questions Currently my Ujoints are shot on both sides, so far I think changing the axle shafts over to a 95 seems like a good place to start. I do have replacement ujoints but I might as well use the stronger ones. Also, I am attaching a picture of the 4x4 axle I found on Kijiji, it has a tire in the way so I may have to ask her for another picture. Do you guys know what it is just by looking at it? My buddy at the farm will be sending me some shots of my axle tonight and Ill post em up. Thanks everyone for your input, I'm definetly learning
  15. Yeah thats a good call, Maybe I'll just start with the front end axle and worry about these types of things down the road. Also, I was looking into it and it looks like my style front axle is likely the older model with the Vaccum piece on the passenger side. I am getting my buddy at the farm to send my a photo to confirm but would all the 86's have the smaller weaker front axle? I may have found another 4x4 axle in Ontario, Just have to make sure its the right part. I'll try and get photos up later
  16. https://www.kijiji.ca/v-other-auto-parts-and-accessories/london/jeep-cherokee-comanche-lift-shackles/1541674410?undefined Do you guys think this would be a good part for my Jeep? I didn't really have plans to lift it but I stumbled on this. As long as it doesnt lift the back too hight and make the front look disproportionate I think I might go for it.
  17. and another one https://www.ebay.com/itm/Adverting-Souvenir-Token-of-Jeep-Comanche-dated-July-1-1985-16393C/114572677477?hash=item1aad105165:g:ydAAAOSwxF5f1Ew5
  18. Yeah I think you're right about the wheels. I found them at a junkyard so I got the rims and tires for $250, the old steel wheels were really rusty so I thought these would be a good set at least temporaily while I plan it all out. I think you're also right about the bed! That is what it looked like minus the graffiti when I bought it, the graffiti distracts you a bit from the fact that the previous owner got rid of all the body lines. The plan is to replace the whole bed when it's on the road, the previous owner did a little bit of his own work and it looks like he painted the entire truck with a roller brush. In the meantime I am letting people have a bit of fun with the paint. Thanks and hopefully it doesn't look like that for long! It kinda drives me crazy having flares on the front and not the back. It's either all or nothing if you ask me.
  19. Yeah I am watching that one, its currently at $85 US with 10 people watching and a week left of bidding so we'll see how high that one goes
  20. Would anyone in this group be willing to sell me one? I am interested in getting one of each. So it looks like this only came out in 85 correct? I am a big coin collector and now that I am building a Jeep it's like it was meant to be. My family already knows I'm crazy
  21. So I'm still slacking but no worries we are getting there! I cleaned out the barn today to get a nice clean dry spot to winter the beast. Here are some pics for the meantime As you guys can see I have a terrible back bumper so if anyone in Ontario has a spare they wanna give me that would be a nice step in the right direction! I found those Jeep rims at the Junkyard and I think they are doing the Jeep some Justice, if you know more about the rims let me know. I'm new to the Jeep game but I love it
  22. That is how I will have to get most of my bolts out, they are pretty rusted. Not much progress on my end at the moment, I'm trying to get a good spot to work on it but it's getting a bit cold so I might be postponing the project until the spring and just focusing on welding the floor pans for now. Thanks again for the advice
  23. Thanks for the responses guys, I almost got a replacement front axle assembly for $250 on Kijiji but I missed, lady said it sold literally minutes before I messaged her. I am looking for a less rusty assembly because I was just thinking the other side will be just as bad but because I missed on the front axle and I can't find another yet in Ontario I think I'll start with Gogmorgo's suggestion and see if heat + welding will get it out. I should have some progress pics after this weekend. Also here is a pic of McDougs on some new Jeep rims I found at the Junkyard, were gettin there!
