  1. Well thanks, all. I found the only thing not answered, and after digging a few cherokee sites, there it was.
  2. Has there been a poll asking what region people are in? I looove classifieds for getting parts, but everything seems to be in the wrong corner of the country (I'm in the Pac NW, Everything is in the Carolinas, California and the great lakes region?) Just wonderin.
  3. This Comanche is my first Jeep anything, ever. Some of these questions are gonna sound dumb. I'm Ok with that. You better be too. Am I losing my mind, or are these things like half metric, half torx? All the screws in my grille and headlight bezels are aluminum. Seriously. And it looks like there was other hardware that rusted off, so they tapped in new holes for these aluminum screws. Anybody seen that before? Were they using a low grade of hardware or something? What are all the lights supposed to be to the left of the gauges? I've only ever seen the seatbelt light, and that was like one time. What's the little flat panel supposed to be under the factory clock to the right of the gauges? None of that is lighting up or working in any way. Could just be a delete panel, for all I know. Here's a big one. I want to replace my wiper switch/turn signal arm. The lever part with the twisty part for the wipers. Can't find it anywhere except in $#!&ty Dorman stuff. What gives? Arright, you've suffered this fool long enough. Any help of commentary is appreciated. I've done nothing buy Volvos and Datsuns for like 10 years, and forgot how rough the learning curve can be.
  4. Looked real close, and sure enough. Pioneer on the side. Had to look rrreeeeeaaalllll close though.
  5. Looked at the box with all the bits for the steering column. Then drove or to the hardware for bathroom remodel crap.
  6. Had an 86 Ram 50 about 8 years ago. Never shoulda gotten rid of it. Then I'd have had a great little truck without the stigma of everyone thinking I'm a crazy jeep guy 😐
  7. Just another vote for keeping it alive. I worked at a wrecking yard for three years, and it killed me to see stuff like that come in.
  8. If you haven't read any Kurt Vonnegut, go get jailbird. He wrote a lot of bizarre, non-sequitur kind of stuff, but it all ties in so beautifully to Everyday Life. For the most part it's light-hearted, but be careful. The Sirens of Titan is one of the saddest books I think I've ever read, and probably the only one he's written that I'll never read again. Also Enchantment, Orson Scott Card Just about anything by Tom Robbins (not B Is For Beer, though) Christopher Moore has lots of fun, easy reads And, as so many have said, Douglas Adams
  9. Books = 300+ pages, up into the thousands Movie script = 120ish pages Or so i was told
  10. Really just needed a little truck. Only plans are fix a couple of leaks, figure or why the dash lights don't work, and what's draining the battery. Oh, and i have the floppy steering column issue. That said, if i had all the time and money I'd like to put in XJ buckets, wing windows, and a roll bar or headache rack. If i make it thru all that, maybe convert to 4x4. I'll probably paint over thre stripes with flat black to match the bumpers.
  11. Bought off CL a few days ago. Came from Hawaii, but haven't found the rust yet. Owners said the lived inland, saving it from the salt. This is my first Jeep anything, (though i had a 77 hornet years ago) and as a Datsun guy, it sure is nice having a 4.0 instead of 2.0. Had it towed home, put in a batt and an alt. Fires right up. Nor bad for 700. There's one thing that's been bugging me. All other examples of these stripes on the sides end with the word pioneer by the tailgate. Mine doesn't. So... Base model? I don't know all the details, but.... 4.0 liter Auto trans 2wd Buckets CUP HOLDERS! And pics.....
