So my jeep has been making a weird knocking noise inbetween the tranny & motor. I have read it could be cracked flex plate or loose flex plate bolts. Bolts were tight and I couldn’t really tell if my flex plate was cracked or not so I went ahead and pulled the tranny. Gonna go ahead and change the flex plate (if I got the right one). Any other ideas on why my transmission is making noise? It has also been shifting a very high rpm even after I changed the TPS. Below is the new flex plate and old. Could someone also tell me if it’s the right one?

Sorry should’ve mentioned that. I currently have about 3inch lift with 33inch tires. I daily the truck on the weekdays and wheel it on the weekends, but I plan to make it strictly Offroad eventually. Which means I want to do 3 link, larger lift and tires. Not too worried about getting one ton axles yet though. But definitely would like a beefier steering! Thanks for the help guys!

I have an 88 Comanche with a 91 Cherokee front axle which had a posi lock, but I put in a straight axle. I’m looking into upgrading my steering and buying a full steering kit with tie rods, ends, and track bar. I was looking into cavfab but I read that you can’t use it if you have disconnected axle so I wasn’t sure if it would or would not work for me. I removed the posi lock and covered the hole in my axle . Also any recommendations? My budget is around 500$

Will do , but it definitely has mismatched parts so I will pull it and look. But I guess my tcase is only 4H and 4L . At least that’s what the shifter says . I have a posi lock for the front axle so I’m guessing the Front drive shaft is suppose to just spin freely until I lock in the posi lock. But when in 4L I can hear a loud clicking noise and it will knock out of 4 If I give it too much gas

This is the transfer case

I have a bad transfer case that doesn’t work in 4 high and slips in 4 low. I plan on putting a new one in and was gonna go to the junkyard to get the same one which is 231 j. When I got get a new one would I have to make sure the splines are the same for the drive shaft I have or could I just throw it in it and ride? Also any recommendations on what to do and what not to do when changing it?

Just tested the pressure in the fuel rail, got about 5 psi which makes me assume that is is the fuel pressure regulator?

Also I believe the engine is from a 91 Cherokee

Seems to be about a 10-12 gallon tank. Pretty sure it’s the stock tank from the MJ

Thanks for the help, I ended up dropping the tank and realizing it was full because my gas gauge is broken. I replaced the fuel pump and put it back in. Truck ran great that night until the next morning it just just shut off. Tried cranking it back up but will only start if I pour gas into the TBI. I’m getting gas into the fuel rail and I’m about to check the fuel pressure. Any ideas? Thanks!

I just recently bought an 88 Comanche that is a really big Frankenstein with a 91 Cherokee. I went to fill up the tank and as usual in jeeps, the pump wanted to stop every 5 seconds. Tried going slowly but nothing worked. It took me 10 minutes to get 2 dollars in, and when I did the gas started to overflow. That is where my bigger issue is... there is barely any gas in the tank and it won’t fill up? Any help? THANKS!
