  1. Thank You! That diagram will help me out a bunch!
  2. What is supposed to go at the back of my valve cover were that bolt is put into? I think a vacuum line is supposed to go there. 89 2.5 5spd
  3. Does anybody know what this plug goes to? It is just dangling at the front end of my mj. 1989 2.5 5spd 2x4
  4. The bed wasn`t in great shape. The passenger side bedside was pretty rough. I do believe it was a swb.
  5. I just thought i would let everyone know that there is a red comanche sportruck with a good complete black interior minus the seats & sagging headliner at Payless Salvage in Butterfield, Mo. I seen it today while i was getting some parts for my MJ. I don`t know if there are any other mj`ers in my area but I know that the black interior is rare so i thought i would let everyone on here know about it. They also have three other comanches & several cherokees at this yard. They are very friendly & cheap.
  6. I have found a nice pair of Tan XJ bucket seats that I will be putting into my MJ. Do I need the female seat belt buckle ends from the XJ too? Or will my bench seat ends work with the bucket seats?
  7. Is anybody running these rims on their comanche? I really like these rims & I am thinking of finding some to put on my mj but I would like to see what they look like on a comanche first. Thanks!
  8. I have been working on it the last couple of days & I have removed all the interior except for the dash in preperation for the roof repair & fixing the floor. The only rust on this truck is on the drivers side floor. So when I have the new roof welded on & will have a new floor welded in at the same time. I also removed the busted windshield too. Sorry, I didn`t take any pictures, I was too busy working on it! I am wanting to get it fixed up & going before winter because I don`t have a garage. I have been working on it in my back yard. But I may move it over to my Dad`s garage if I have too. Just thought I would give a update on it.
  9. My DD. 2001 Cherokee Limited 4.0 AW4 NP231 4X4 All Stock, Power Everything.
  10. Update: It now runs! All it needed to get running is a new battery. It runs & idles as good or better than my 01 xj 4.0. Now it is on to fixing the roof. More to come....
  11. You will be the first one I will offer it to. I am thinking about putting a 97+ front clip on it. I kinda like the 97+ look better. I wish they would kept on making comanches up to 2001 like they did with the xj`s. A 2001 Comanche would be sweet!
  12. I noticed the grill too so, I asked the po about it & he said he hit a deer with it & put the grill & front clip from a cherokee on it. I may keep the 10 slot on it or I am thinking about finding a wrecked 97+ xj & maybe doing a complete 97+ swap on it. We shall see. I need to get the roof fixed on it first. I am maybe planning to go to one of my local junkyards next Saturday & cut a roof off a junked mj.
  13. That would be great! Those pages out of that body manual would be helpful. I will also be searching ebay & here for the factory repair manuals for my mj. The po gave me a haynes manual when I bought it, but the factory ones would be much better!
  14. I got it home this afternoon! The seller actually delivered it for me, I couldn`t believe it. He was the original owner, really nice folks, him & his family hated to see it go, but he didn`t have the time to fix it himself & he didn`t want to pay someone so he sold it. Once I get it fixed he wants me to bring it by & give him a ride in it & I told him I would. He was really glad that I am going to fix it rander than part it out. Too rust free to do that. I will find me a roof off a junkyard mj here soon. There are two yards close to me with about 4 mjs in them so I shouldn`t have a problem finding parts. I have started a project thread with pics, here is a link to it: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=24275 Thanks for all the advice & help so far. If it wasn`t for me asking the question about it on here I more than likely wouldn`t have bought it. I am glad that there is Comanche Club!
  15. Ladies & Gentlemen, Meet Buddy. Buddy is a 1989 Comanche Pioneer, 2.5 I4, AX5 5 Speed, SWB, 2wd. I just bought it last night & hauled it home today. I have been wanting a Comanche for as long as I can remember & now I finally have one! I bought it from the original owner for $500. It is almost rust free, it has only been in Tennessee & Arkansas so it is a southern truck. The only rust on it is the drivers side floor. It needs roof & motor work. I haven`t got it started yet, but the po said when he parked it it would run & idle, but once it got over 2,000rpm it would loose power & bog down. I bet the cat convertor is clogged. I am hoping it is something simple. On to the roof, when it started running rough, he parked it under a tree & left it & when the last ice storm came a good sized tree branch fell on it, so the roof is pushed in some. Other than that & the interior being kinda nasty the rest of the truck is in great shape. So, my plans right now for it are to fix the roof by either pounding this one out or cutting a good roof off a junked mj & welding it on, & try to get it running good, & if I can`t do that or if the motor is shot I will find a 4.0 donor & swap a 4.0 in. So, the madness has officially begun for me! Also, so I don`t get one of these, :needpics: here are some pics:
  16. Ok. Thank You! I just signed up on photobucket. Hopefully this will work....
  17. Thank You to everyone who was looking for one for me, I just bought one tonight! Here is link to it in the registry: viewtopic.php?f=33&t=24268

Sales Invoice is from sometime in 1988. I got most of the original paperwork with it. I bought it from the original owner. Current Location: Seligman, Mo Status: Project Notes: Red exterior, Tan interior, vinyl bench seat, factory air, sliding rear window. Current Owner: Seth P, jeepdude89
  19. I now own it! I went & payed for it tonight. I am picking it up tomorrow afternoon. Anyway, here is a photo of the damage that I took with my cell phone. More pics to come tomorrow! I haven`t figured out the photo thing, so here is a link to the pic on my facebook: http://www.facebook.com/#!/photo.php?pi ... 0617382591
  20. Both pillars are not damaged & both doors open & shut good. My plan right now is just to beat the sheet metal back out, put a new windshield in it & call it good.
  21. Update: I am buying it for his asking price of $500. I will try to fix it or part it out. Once I get it I will post up some photos of it. I may just cut the roof off of a junkyard mj & weld it on. I have some friends that can weld good & I may just have one of them weld me a new roof on it. Both the A & B pillars & the doors are not damaged though, so it may have some hope left. Also, I don`t think that the motor is blown. It runs & idles but once it gets above 2,000rpm it loses power & bogs down. So I may not be getting too bad of a deal after all! The owner thinks that it is blown though. We shall see.
  22. He wants $500 for it. I offered him $200, I just got a email from him & he is thinking about taking my offer. We shall see. Also, this one isn`t as damaged as the one you showed in that picture. I was wandering, the junkyard close to me has about three or four mjs in the yard, all with good roofs. Maybe i could just cut the roof off one of them & weld it back together?
  23. Ok I am still having second thoughts. I am still talking to the owner about buying it, so we will see what happens! I may go back & buy it still. Even if I can`t fix it I could part it out, the bed & tailgate is in good shape & rust free plus there is alot of other good useable parts on it. I will keep you guys updated.
  24. I should have took some photos but i didn`t. Yes it is pushed in pretty good, but both doors still opened & shut fine. But still, it sounds like quite a bit of work. I think i may have to pass on this one, it is a shame though, the rest of the truck is in great shape, other than the blown motor. I just had second thoughts on it because i don`t see too many comanches for sale here in my area.
  25. I just went & looked at a 89 comanche tonight with a blown 2.5 & a pushed in cab. A huge tree limb fell on the front passenger side of the cab & pushed it in pretty good! My question is: how hard do you guys think it would be for me to push it back out? Can you even push the cab back out once it is pushed in on a comanche? Sorry for my inexperience, I havent done much body work so I am a noob when it comes to body stuff! I told the guy that I would probely pass on it but now I am having second thoughts. I want a comanche really bad! On this truck other than the blown motor & pushed in cab it is in really good shape & almost rust free! It has been a one owner southern truck all its life! I can always fix the 2.5 by dropping a 4.0 in. I am just curious about fixing the cab/roof. Thanks in advance!
