well it has been a while since i have updated my build thread but work has continued, i finished up the engine swap with the hardest part being wiring up the rear tail lights. After I wired it up i have been working on it for a while. and after adding some rock rails I finally took it out The only thing i really had problems with was the gearing was a little to high so crawling was difficult the clutch driving was a little hard. it also got mighty warm in the cab. the jeep did very well over all. so it was a good run. :D -
Well my Comanche just underwent major surgery. I just tore out a knocking renix 4.0 and i replaced it with a 4.0 H.O. The wiring and the engine are all 1995. After many hours of swapping harnesses and random parts that i wouldn't think need changing like pedal brackets and transfer case shifters my jeep is finally close to running it fires very well and sounds great. Now the problem, when i plug in the gauge cluster and turn the key on; the oil pressure jumps all the way to the right side and it literally pegs it out even with the sensor unplugged. The temperature never rises above the 90 degree mark no matter how long it stays on. Are these two things connected? Any ideas as to the problem or how to fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

ok and yes it is from a cherokee i should have specified -
well I have an 88 jeep renix era 4.0l engine, it knocks badly, and I am swapping to the HO 95 from a rolled jeep on craigslist. The question is with the update to OBD 1 HO engine how much of the wiring will I need from the donor? would it be easier to pull all of the wiring, and using it in the 88? any tips and tricks, or pot holes to watch out for is greatly appreciated. :wrench:

well I decided to mount a set of fog lights that I picked up for ten dollars at a local swap meet in September they are valued at $60 so $10 dollars was a heck of a deal they still need to be aligned but they look good i also mounted my center counsel :fs1: I am still waiting on ball joints -

well the bushwackers are plastic they are very strong they seem to add strength to the entire area where they are mounted they also have the ability to flex if need be i have seen pictures of tires stuffed into them and the tire spinning and instead of destroying the plastic they just pull out of there mounting points -

they are not rubbing at all yet, unfortunately i haven't had time to go and flex the suspension all the way out. as for the two tone look i like the flat black look personally but that is me... Now a small update on the jeep, i took it to town!; it is the first time it has been on the road since i acquired it last February, i took it to town to get it aligned at a local shop. After making the fifteen minute drive to the shop they pulled it in to do there very AWESOME laser alignment but they couldn't sadly because the jeep needs ball joints and u joints before they will touch it so i have a set of ball joints on order so the jeep sits until they arrive :( -

it is cool about the hijack, i think that with dark blue the black won't contrast enough, i would also be a little concerned about the tire rubbing with 35s or 36s but that is just my .02 -

yep, the corner guard welds turned out looking like garbage because i had to add a filler piece and there were some tough gaps to fill; but the winch plate is welded solid on both sides with excellent penetration and a cross brace, the bumper would tear off the frame before the welds failed.
