  1. Having a difficult time finding a windshield replacement, the ones I have found and looked at are the “green tinted”, I’m pretty sure mine is a clear, anyone using the green tinted, if yes how do you like it? Also, are the Cherokee and Comanche windshield interchangeable? thanks in advance.
  2. That’s fine, getting the cruise corrected is on the bottom of my list, thx.
  3. Hey guys, checking out for the weekend but I’m sure I’ll find time to check the site. Headed to the beach, the wife wanted to go for our anniversary, can’t argue with that. Appreciate all the help.
  4. Hey 87, do you have cruise on yours? Could you take a pic on how it connects to the throttle linkage? Details are sketchy on this but I’m still looking.
  5. It’s equipped with cruise control. I noticed a hole, looks like a cable connection hole, located on the throttle linkage bracket, wondering if it goes there. I’ll start researching it from the cruise control side of things.
  6. Okay, I traced it over to some bottle looking contraption tucked in between the air filter box and fender. From what I can see the only 2 connections this “bottle” has is the other end of this mysterious cable and what appears to be a vacuum line that runs over and connects to a tee that comes off the manifold. I’m gonna dig through the FSM and see if I can come up with anything. Here’s a pic of the bottle
  7. Will get one tomorrow. Thx
  8. So I Googled the AW4 throttle valve cable...just about everything I’ve read mentions that having issues with this particular cable would lead to shifting issues, when I drove it today after the brake work it seemed to shift just fine. More research needed on this.
  9. I’ve driven it, throttle is working unless it was changed out and this one just left there. I probably need to take a close look.
  10. While filling my brake fluid reservoir during my brake overhaul I noticed this small cable that wasn’t connected to anything...looked around the engine but couldn’t determine where it goes. Anybody recognize it??
  11. Completed brake overhaul today. Front disc were good. Got system bled out and have good brakes. Moving on to next project... changing front and rear differential fluids.
  12. That’s cool, gonna have to put that on my list too. Thx Griff
  13. That makes me feel a lot better, at least I know it’s working. I’ll eventually install a separate temp and oil pressure gauge. Thanks for the info. Griff
  14. Hey Pete, Will we still have the ability to upload pics, say from our phone or computer? Grifg
  15. Another question. I’ve never had much confidence in “idiot lights”. With the ignition turned on shouldn’t both the lights on the left side be illuminated?? I know the top one is the temp, not sure about the bottom one?? Really concerned about the temp light. I did notice that as I actually start the vehicle with the key/starter engaged the temp light turns on but when the engine starts and the key is released it goes off. This may be a stupid question but I really don’t need issues that come along with overheating an engine.
  16. Not a bad idea in regards to replacing the hoses, I’ll inspect them to see what kind of shape they are in and go from there. Trying to finish up my brake system rebuild now but the power steering flush is on my list, the list is getting longer!! Lol Griff
  17. Rear brakes rebuilt today, everything back together, will bleed system and move on to the front disc for inspection tomorrow. I don’t believe they have ever been serviced. At least a 1/2” to 3/4” buildup of old fluid, dirt, and grime. One cylinder completely blown out and the other pouring fluid, no wonder the truck came with a quart of brake fluid.
  18. Looks like you’ve done this before, what’s the best way to drain and flush it?
  19. Will definitely try draining and putting fresh fluid in first. Will let you know the outcome.
  20. Nothing abnormal or any unusual noises. The steering fluid did look like chocolate mud...I’ve never flushed a system before but this one is definitely a good candidate for one.
  21. That’s awesome, just what I needed. The bumper is pretty banged up which pretty much explains it just laying around. Thx, Griff
  22. Thanks Pete, I knew it was vacuum related. I’ll see if I can locate it in the FSM, at least I know where to start looking for details on it now.
  23. Noticed what appeared to be some type of fluid blowing down the drivers side top and bottom side of the engine bay. It was very noticeable on the main air filter box. It looked like it was possibly blowing out the vent hole on the power steering reservoir, I’ll add a pic. I checked the level and it was slightly overfilled, just above the high line on the cap dipstick. Hopefully that is all it was. Anyone else experienced this, it was either over filled or some type of back pressure blowing it out?
  24. Started a new "build thread" but was recommended that I post questions over here in the Tech forum which makes sense...I will probably have several while reviving the Comancher but will keep them separated in different posts in hopes of helping someone else. Found this round object floating around the engine bay, appears to have a vacuum line and sensor hooked to it. Not quite sure what it is and where it mounts??
