Never have I took on such an extensive project, not to mention my first Jeep build....with 90% of work performed by ONLY your's truly (8.8 install, floor pan install, Unibody tie-in plating, and bumper install courtesy of: BKFabworks, LLC). My mother won a brand new '87 Comanche SporTruck off the radio when I was 13 and it grew on me pretty quick, but never got into the Jeep scene for 25 years, until 2012 when my younger brother built his '99 XJ, two years after being diagnosed with terminal bone cancer. We lived side by side, so the last 5 years of his life we were together almost every day, and wrenched on cars for years together for hobby. Couple months before he passed he mentioned how he wished he had time for Me and Him to build a Jeep together, but what he really wanted to buiild was a Comanche. Two years and five days after he passed on December 28th, 2017, I traded my '87 GMC Sierra Classic I had always wanted since a kit, all original except for axles upgraded, 135,000, for this Comanche FILLED with disaster after disaster. ONLY headlights worked, absolute wiring disaster with severe fluid leak damage on fuse block, engine idled at 3000 rpm, PO just finished a HO long block swap but utilizing Renix Intake, TB & sensors, vacuum line nightmare, no floorpans, total oily messy disaster under the hood....but somewhat ran and drove. So after complete wiring harness replacement (round #1) on top of MANY, MANY other dilemmas, a broken piston ring finally ended my 2 month daily driving streak. June 22nd, 2019 I unexpectedly decided to do a full HO swap for it when I rolled my '95 XJ, and make as many repairs and upgrades that I could along the way. June 27th I began stripping the Comanche and the rest is in the pictures and everything listed above. So here we are, full blown MJ addict refusing to get help, but did cut my Jeep inventory back to my Mj and little brother's XJ, and I'll part with them the same manner as he did.
Sorry for the length!
