  1. Can anyone tell me if these are OEM style side moldings for a comanche?
  2. Can I assume that the truck would not start without the rotor in place? It definitely fell from within the front clip, so I guess it’s safe to say it was dropped and never found?
  3. I traveled to Virginia last Friday and picked up a 1992 4.0 4wd automatic long bed. Have been looking for a winter rig to keep miles off my JLU and my 89 in good condition and rust free, as salt wreaks havoc on vehicles here in WV. I picked it up right, knowing it had some issues to work out before being road-worthy. I have come here to gather opinions on what brand and best place to purchase a radiator because the current one is leaking. I also need help identifying a part that fell when I was taking the front clip off, which is pictured below. Thanks I’m advance!
  4. It has me confused as well. The clips that were on the passenger side are loosely attached and can't provide much function, if any. Could be the PO's doing, but I wanted to get a feel if others on here had the same issue.
  5. Pictured is the driver side which has the part that goes under and holds the clip tight. The passenger side is just a straight pin with nothing to hold it tight.
  6. It’s an 89. I re-used the same clips. The passenger side clips were nothing more than a straight c-clip with nothing to latch on, therefore they are loose. The driver side clips were different in the fact that they were not straight, and latched on for a tight fit.
  7. Can anyone tell me the torque specs for the caliper bracket bolts (E12) and the 7mm female Allen heads that attach caliper to bracket? Also, does anyone have pictures of their anti-rattle clips? The clips were not the same from driver to passenger side.
  8. Thanks for clearing that up!

  10. Found a few comanche's at the local PNP and later ran the vin of one for the equipment listing. The truck was an 89, 4.0, 4WD SWB Pioneer with buckets but no full console. Under optional equipment, Jeep has listed "Longhorn Southfork Package". Does anyone know what that included on these trucks?
  11. Drilling the rivets out will remove the floor brackets from your bench seat assembly. but to remove the brackets from the truck there are (4) 13mm nuts to remove. I took the brackets off a bench seat this past weekend, and as long as you don't miss any rivets, it is a fairly easy process.
  12. Like the title says, looking for a grey center console that’s in good condition to go with some buckets I picked up recently. Possibly interested in a tan or black as well. Shipping would be to 26508.
  13. Looking for some advice from someone who is running or has ran zone offroad’s 4.5” kit. I was originally going to buy 32/11.50s but ran into a deal on some 33/12.50s and changed my mind. With that being said, I already know the obvious which is that they are gonna be a TIGHT fit. I would prefer to put them on 15x10 wheels with 3.75 backspacing. Can anyone tell me from experience if this set-up will work? Cutting is not an option. Btw, this truck does not get wheeled so that will help.
  14. I recently brought my '89 comanche out of it winter hibernation and have been using it as a daily while my ram is at the body shop. The inspection sticker has been dead since December of 17, so in preparation of getting a new sticker, I replaced both front and rear passenger turn signal bulbs as they we're burnt out. While they ARE working now, I have some strange things going on inside the cab when I use my right signal that did not happen prior to doing this. First, if I get in my truck and press the brake pedal before starting the truck (or even putting a key in the ignition) I get a buzzing noise that only lasts as long as the brake is being held in, and promptly stops when it is let back out. This is really the least of the problem, but I thought it was note-worthy and might pertain to the issue in general. Secondly, If I apply my right signal while driving I get an unusual sound, unlike that of when I apply my left signal. Its hard to explain, but its a faster sound and also has more of a buzz to it. While the right signal is engaged, MY CLOCK AND RADIO flash intermittently with the signal. Lastly, if I apply my brakes while driving all interior lighting (such as radio, clock, etc) go dark, and appear only once the brake pedal is let out. Sometimes taking longer than others depending on how long the brake has been pressed. This is throwing me for a loop and proving to be rather annoying while driving. TIA for any and all input.
  15. I am in need of a set of bench seat brackets due to mine being unusable. Located in Morgantown, WV 26508. Paypal ready.
  16. he contacted me, thanks!
  17. not to hi-jack this thread, but I would be interested in purchasing some emblems as well if anyone has any to spare. Neither of mine had the emblems on them whenever I bought them.
  18. appreciate the input everyone!
  19. I am aware the 8.25 was never offered in renix era xjs. My main concern is ease of the swap. Would it be any more involved if I didn't get a renix donor?
  20. I have a 1988 SWB 4.0 2-WD with an AW4 tranny and I'm currently searching for a donor xj to do a 4x4 swap. I intend on staying with an automatic transmission. Would prefer to find a xj with a 30 and 8.25 and swap both of them in. I'm aware that I would need to move perches on the 8.25 if I did so. So my question is: Do I need to find a Renix era XJ to swap (Pre 1990), or will a 91-96 swap just as easily? I have exhausted the search option and still do not have a real clear understanding as to what else would be involved if I used components off a 91-96. Teach me some knowledge people!
  21. I'll check that out whenever the weather breaks, thanks!
  22. Just purchased one from ebay, thanks!
  23. I picked up another Comanche tonight and as the title says, it has a loud squeal. It is a 1988 4.0 2-wd automatic. The squeal gets louder as RPMs go up. From what I’ve read on here, my first thoughts are the harmonic balancer. Will I be able to tell by looking at it visually or just replace it and hope it fixes the squeal?
