Alright so I'll be going off to college here in about two weeks and my grad present was a new motor :D This is what ive been doing for about the last month or so. what i started with Once i started to tear into it The goods  once i started putting the accesories on the new motor.
-
alright so i recently purchased a re-manufactured motor and in the bottom of the crate was this little pin. about an inch in length. i didn't really think much of it but then when i was tearing my old motor apart the same pin fell out of the oil pan when i took it off. It just looks like just some guide pin but i have no idea where it goes. Does anyone have any idea what I'm talking about? . if not i'll be sure to post up a picture. thanks for the help guys.

rear axle housing gasket.
yeahright16 replied to yeahright16's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Alright thanks guys! I'll post a few pics up after i get it all back together! -
okay so i decided to change the oil and gasket on my rear axle. Prolly has never been changed before. I took off the differential cover and there wasn't a gasket to begin with, just a bunch of red rtv gasket goo. I didn't realize there wasn't a gasket so i had already bought one. Should i put the gasket on and just scrape away all the red rtv silicone stuff? They wouldn't make a gasket for it if it wasn't suppose to have one right???? Is it a bad thing to put a gasket on there even tho its never had one? thanks guys! -zack

don't @#$% up a perfectly good comanche by trying to make it a "convertable".........in my honest opinion, thats ghey. no offence I'm just saying. a sunroof would be cool tho. I saw the other thread with the rims you want to put on there and id say to just fix up the old rims and make em look new again. nothing a little paint can't solve. ive got a 1990 sporTruck myself and i've repainted the old stock rims and they look great. theres a guy on youtube who has like 10 different videos on the comanche he made into a convertable. it looks jank......nuff said. here's my Comanche viewtopic.php?f=7&t=21925 :clapping: oh and here's the convertable Comanche. :shake:

New to the "Comanche craze" and lovin' it
yeahright16 replied to Brenton's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
sounds promising! to post pics..... the way i found easiest was to upload on photobucket.com and then just do the embedded thing. there are like 4 options and the one with in the title is the one you copy and just paste it into the text box like this one. but basically upload all your photo's their and its pretty easy to get the hang of it! Can'et wait to see some pictures! -
My gauges arn't working???
yeahright16 replied to yeahright16's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
sadly i don't have another cluster to test out so I'm planning on just going to the junk yard in the next couple days and get a new dimmer switch and see if that sovles the problem. -

My gauges arn't working???
yeahright16 replied to yeahright16's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Does anyone have any idea what i can start doing to trouble shoot this? I really want this problem fixed. So far i've checked the fuses, checked the ground, checked the bulbs which are fine, and i've looked for any loose connections. What should be my next plan of attack? -

just went out and checked and the fuses are in perfect condition. replacing them made no difference. even the instrument panel fuse...... -

I disagree. If the warning lights in the array on the left work, the panel has a ground. Have you tried rotating the headlight switch? It's a rheostat dimmer -- there's a contact that scrapes along a coiled (spring-like) resistant wire that controls the brightness of the instrument lights. One extreme is OFF. As the headlight switch gets old, the resistance wire often develops dead spots. On my '88 XJ, I can't run the lights at full brightness because there's a dead spot there. If I turn the switch slightly toward dim, they come on. yeah that was the first thing i tried. there's no sign of light regardless of which way i turn it even after the little click. But the loose ground could possibly be the problem even though i just looked at it and it seems fine. but like you said it couldn't be the ground if all the other lights are working. -
All the fuses are in perfect shape. my blinker arrows will light up and so will my high beam indicator but the lights behind my speedo and stuff are not lighting up. my indicators on the left like my seat belt warning all work its just the bulbs behind my guages. I have no idea what could be the problem? anyone know whats going on? :???: thanks everyone.
