No this guy wasn't very helpful. I kind of got the vibe from him like he was ending his shift and wanted to get off the phone as quick as possible. Sometimes I don't hold that against people because I know I wouldn't want there job. So if I don't get an inside name in the next couple of days I will try and call again. Someone on here said to try that and I might get a completly different response.
Well I talked with rough country tonight and they said they don't carry mj long arm kits. I asked would you be able to sell just the front half of the kit for xjs. They said no. This is crazy, so does someone know of an inside guy they have used at RC that I may get a better response from?
And thanks for the link on the install it pretty much answered my question on installing long arm kits on an mj I know it can be accomplished.
I know this topic has been beat to death but I would like some info on the actual install of a long arm lift from someone who has actually has it in there mj. I have read almost every thread that mentions long arm and all I have really seen is should I get it or not. I don't really need that info. I know that drop brackets and long arm kits both require modifications. So if any one has installed in particularly rough country's 6.5" long arm kit I would like some info. Thanks
Yes if you look down thru the windshield you will see them it's the piece the defrost vents come out of. Then the screws for the dash are behind it. Good luck. I broke mine trying to remove it.
There is a trim piece at the top of the dash against the windshield that must be removed. This was a real pain for me. After you get that out there is self tapping screws on brackets attached to the cab. Remove those and it should loosen up for you.
I was there on Tuesday morning and there was a grey long bed 4.0, and a blue short bed 4 cyl. The short box was in the suv section and the grey one was down towards the fullsize trucks.
Northern Cali or sothern Cali? I ask because if it's northern and you come thru Reno and have any probs I will be around if u needed some help with anything. Just shoot me a pm and I will give u my number.
I don't know for sure if it will be the right size but check a junk yard on an xj, the bolt that holds the spare tire on the inside is exactly like that. It just might work for what ever your doing. For what it's worth
I know I have read on here somewhere but can't seem to find it again. Is there a brake line from another vehicle to use when lifting an mj 6". I'm just trying to save a few bucks over buying new ones, any help would be appreciated.
Just to let you know there are two mjs at pick n pull in sparks right now. One is a long bed and one short. They are both 2wd. The short bed has the black interior and is in pretty good shape. I don't know if u needed mj specific parts for your truck but thought I would let you now since your the first Reno member I have seen.
