  1. ok thanks, will go back to my friends tomorrow for him to check it... the spacers are supposed the correct side as what I got to see... i hope is nothing major. but ill keep yu posted... would you get me in a direction of where should the vent hose be or go? this is for a rear dana 44 differential. i hope is not the internal seals either! thanks for your support hornbrod.
  2. btw hornbrod, what rear sway bar did u use, or how did u install... can you show a bigger picture of it, or pics of how did u install... my guess it is a comanche... is it?
  3. So I did rear disc brake conversion.... and it is 1000 times better for stopping... well my rear brakes were gone, thats probably I feel that much difference, but I have never had that good stopping on my comanche. Anyways to the point. However, I did the rear disc brake conversion and you have to use the teraflex rings (www.teraflex.biz/rear-disc-brake-preload-ring-for-early-kits.html.. my problem comes that it is leaking oil from the driver side, it is not like dripping from a hose, but it is a constant drip, anyways, I was the continuity does not matter that much. I did change the seals on both sides, I think the conversion does not have anything to do with it, I did took the axle one more time to check and rearrange, and reassemble and it still drips. has anyone of you that did that change conversion, or have change bearings, seals, etc, encounter this type of problem? any help would be appreciated. thanks.
  4. oh ok, good. I was worried it may have included some other important things in there... i might put some "universal tags" as hornbrod or something... lol... thanks to everyone. I guess this will stop the thread. ha... anyways go comanches.
  5. I have a 1991 jeep comanche with a dana 44, I did the rear disc conversion on mine, but the shop were i did it lost the tags for the differential. like where the numbers for gear ratio are, etc. is there anyway to find those, are those really important? i know for sure my Gear ratio is posi trac 3.54.. is there anything else I need to know from those tags? is there anywhere I could find some similar or something? the ones lost are the one thats recommends limited slip oil only, and the ones with the numbers. they did not lose the cover or screws fortunately... lol thanks for your comments.
  6. thanks, I thought about getting both sets, but just went with the gut feeling... I hope as you said they should fit and I hope I don't have major problems, anyways thanks for the update... will try to do them on the weekend, will let you know how it goes or if I have to order something else... lol... thanks
  7. thanks for your help... I haven't pulled parts from my D44 since it is my daily driver. So if you could measure it would be helpful thanks. I went an order the dbk since that what the teraflex customer told me most people order for the zj brakes, however he was not really knowledgable but was 80% sure it was the right part. I hope it is... however any help would be really appreciated.
  8. pretty sure? I am inclining over the 86261 smaller diameter... since most of the post you gave me are using that one :S anyone else with their opinion? thanks anyway
  9. 59 comanche, i am interested on a light bar too... it looks awesome on yours... my MJ looks similar to yours. you can see it in this thread http://comancheclub.com/topic/36167-jeep-comanche-roof-basket/ how did you mount the bar? would you show us the brackets or where did you get them from? I saw some on ebay but they where mounted towards the front on the windshield. but i did not like it... I would like it like yours or a little bit more towards the roof. thanks great build. PS great motor! good advice to us 4.0 wanting more HP.
  10. hi, i am about to do a rear disc from a zj grand cherokee conversion on my MJ dana 44. But I know i need the teraflex spacer or the rubicon plate... I am going to the teraflex side spacer since it will only require to tag it to the current plate; however there is two part numbers listed on different topics, threads, forums and I don't know which one to order and teraflex has not answered my email. I am at work and can't call them to ask. i have part number 86261 and 86262... which one is the best for us MJ D44 owners? and any other part I may need? I am getting everything rear brake related from a 1996 zj grand cherokee. thanks in advance.
  11. sorry for the late replay, I have been out of town the most part of this year and haven't had internet on the way... this is a very good idea, I might try this, I had never think of doing this. I will try to take some pictures up close, I just have to find a camera since the one I had broke, its taking blurry pictures, I don't know why... Anyone has experience fixing nikon cameras? its an s6000... lol.... anyways I will try to explain... they are bolted thru the sheetmetal from the side... what I mean is that the cut the lip that bolts originally the taillight to the metal on a cherokee... and then they did littlewhole on the metal on the truck bed, and with the screw the put a whole thru the plastic on the side (black part) of the tail light and thats how it holds.... for the body work they cut some part of the cherokee and just welded in and bondo it and that was it.. what i meant is that you try to fit them just like they originally do on a comanche, however the wholes are a little different... but you will understand me better with the pictures...I know I'm not a good explainer but I will try to get some pictures. thanks
  12. on the rack whatever I can... lol... and maybe put on some lights or something for the trails/beach/ woods/ streets. I thought on the bumper carrier, just did not ordered my bumper, because I was thinking of trying to put the tire down where the stocks go... just haven't tried it. thats why I wanted to roof rack too... then decided the tire up there would be a Pain in the A.... to get it down to ground if needed.
  13. I thought of doing that but idont want to take space of the bed... I might carry an atv, or tools, or some other things on it. thats why I did not do that, and I would like something concealed too, but anyhow, i guess I will just have to work something out and don't want to stress about it right now, kinda liking the truck and having fun with it... hey rymanrph I saw something different on your truck but couldn't see what was it until i realized the clear corner lights and turn signals, those look sweet and do go great with the color of the truck.
  14. BTW Rymanrph where did you get the comanche club decal? I would like one too, lol jejej
  15. thanks everyone... you are correct Rymanrph the tailights were done together with the front clip mods... what I did after wa the complete renovation of interiors, engine bay, sound system, exhaust system, doors, front and back bumpers, bedliner, and much more accesories that I can recall right now... btw congrats on your 97 MJ build.... thats a great green mean machine there, I realliy like the color combination and the rims... another thing to coffman... I went with the roof rack since I don't have a roll bar like Rymanrph... that was the look I wanted but really hard to find rollbars down here on the south... or at least like the one he has... I could only build it and I just went with what I had and faster way and I really like the look of it and left it that way... I was thinking of getting a roll bar couple of months ago... but just decided it will be redundant and it was adifferent one that took too much space on the bed. I am just debating right now where to put a spare tire....I have a 17' rubicon wheel with the KM tire that will not fit underneath... thats why I wanted to maybe run a cargo basket but I don't know now... Center of gravity might go up too much... lol .....
  16. I put the back of the truck pic.. .what more pics of the tailights you mean?...
  17. thanks everyone.... the cross pieces don't move too much... I will have to do one backwards so that they spread out but I didn't like the look of them by itself, with the rack I might turn it around. i was going to use it as a light bar but then decided not to put that many lights. I might put some on the A pillars thou. the tailights were done on the paint shop, its just a matter of finding a way to fit that part of the cherokee on it and a little bit of steel here and there and it will work, it shouldn't be that hard if you are good with metal and other materials... I am not a welder so I left that to the experts, other than that, everything that was bolted, screwed, glued, etc. I could do. that harbor freight cargo could do the job with some modifications to make it look good. here are some more pics... this is what makes the bass... one more from 3/4 view
  18. just a tease...lol
  19. thanks, please do and let me know to see if its in my budget and if It is my style
  20. Yeah I know, they are expensive, i was lucky enough that the guy that sold me the truck ordered them a week before and he had already paid for installation so i got them with the truck... here are some night picks, could not resist to show off some pride after a year long of working on it... the bad thing is that I don't have pics of the process. you can see the seats in one of the pictures they are very similar to the jeep cherokee ones in shape only. you can barely see the rack, so that is what I am debating a roof basket, or either more lights on top, or I don't know... I guess I have the feeling of doing something to it after doing too many things to it for a long time... lol.... for interiors you guys know the deal... agate dashboard, center console, doors, trim, etc... and the seats as you see are the crossfire ones... just like these ones http://www.ebay.com/itm/05-Chrysler-Crossfire-black-gray-leather-heated-power-seats-/271091632628?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f1e5209f4&vxp=mtr ill post more day pics tomorrow.
  21. here it is, just as I bought it before mods... I will post day pics tomorrow.... it hasnt changed much but it does make a difference
  22. hi, I have a 91 jeep comanche converted all the way to 2000 jeep comanche... it has all the front clip, doors, interiors, computer, wires, tailights, etc, you guys know, itwas converted the whole deal. Seats are from a 2007 Chrylser Crossfire... not direct bolt on but they do fit. I have the jeep cherokee roof rack on the comanche. It was cut to fit, and it does look really good... will try to upload some pictures tomorrow... however I am debating on putting a roof basket... I have seen some ford rangers with it and I do like them, but I have not seen any on a jeep comanche. has anyone tried to do one or bought one. I have searched the forums but have not find any topic on it...
  23. Found them on a hidden junkyard!... they were from a cherokee, but they did work, just had to cut them to size but they are exact fit.... thanks to everyone that PM me..
