  1. Yea I've took a few tranny's out. I have no lift but I do have air tools, prefer hand tools so as you can feel if a bolts gonna break :wall: . Wouldn't say I'm an experienced jeep mechanic, but far from a newbie
  2. Thanks for clearing that up. On a side note I'm pretty sure I blew my Tranny  I have looked at the DIY threads on here but was wondering how hard of job it actually is (timewise)
  3. good catch for a newbie :brows: So what I understand then is that any jeep with an AX15 doesn't have a CAD?
  4. figure out all the power wires and the ground. If you have a continuity tester you can figure which 2 wires are for a speaker guess and check after that. Put a sony deck into my cherokee doing that method took 30 minutes my first time.
  5. Alright so I don't know if this applies but on all the BA10's I see it has that vaccuum hose on top, whereas I have yet to see an AX15 with one. Anyone else notice this?
  6. Yea it's a fun truck. CAD just gave out on me last night goin to pull the old mans plow truck out so i'm stuck in 6'' of snow
  7. pictures are up. Are they not showing?
  8. I'm pretty sure the auto is the aw4 is it not? Of course!
  9. Could the cat be plugged off bad enough it won't allow that much rpm? Or do those old ones have a cat?
  10. Hey I just picked up my first comanche :D and was looking for some advice. First off it's a '89 comanche 4.0 BA10 (or ax-15, I am unsure), and a np231. It has a 5'' lift composed of a leaf over axle in the back and a big a$$ coil spacer up front. It has 33's. My questions include: If I do have a BA10 how hard is the swap to an AX15? This jeep currently has 3.07's, I was wondering what a suitable gear ratio would be for 4x4ing, (cruising trails, mud, snow) I was thinking 3.55's as I have a set. It does have the dana 44. When they did the lift the P.O. didn't relocate the bottom shock mounts, any advice there? The last thing is I need to eliminate my C.A.D., any advice? I have been around cherokees for the last couple years of my life so I have a pretty good idea what I'm doing. Cheers  Justin
  11. i can honestly say I am dieing to hear a blue bottle on a 4.0 litre. But I can't afford the $!00+ to try it
  12. I'm running a red devil on my jeep 4.0 H.O. It's not really loud but you know its there when you step on it. Kinda "Raps off" when you step on it
  13. And that's exactly it to. I'm about the same age and as good as the advice is it's just easier to live and learn.....sadly. I think most everyone on this board can relate to something like this at one point or another in there life. Cheers Justin (P.S. good job on trying to get this thing living again! )
