It started, ran all day so far but happens alot often. At least 4-5 x a week.

I was sitting in my 88 american idling and she stalled on me. Now, sitting in best buy parking lot broke down...getting fuel. Spark is good. Flooded? Let it sit for like five, now it started. Seems to b ok....wtf?????

Agreed. And really? I mean, you had to test on a NIB Dak light? That would be like the Dak guys trying to make tails and cutting up a NIB MJ light. Should have started with a used one. Rob L. :dunno: it worked though so it dosent matter .....i was sitting there with both of them in my hand, bored and was like f it......started cutting.....dove right in and i knew i was dedicated after the first incision....i still think for a FIRST STAGE they look ok.

here's some pics of a mod for a dakota light for my mj....its a trial run so no crap from anyone :fs1: nib 88 dakota tail light.... dremel the crap out of it got some nuts and dremeled an old beat up mj light oh noooooooooo cut it to fit as best as i could, gorilla glue, then caulked it up and waa laa

its nuts my buddy was looking at it the day before i got them installed and told me if he had it for 3 days, he can make a mold for me....and he even knew the grade of poly it was, sooooo the next pair i get for the white one I'm gonna give him. he even said he can make it out of stronger poly... :thumbsup:

Just replaced ignition tumbler and everything works again. but here's your answers You traced power from the battery to the fuses and through the fuses? no i did not You pulled the fuses and they are not blown? yes i did When you pull the head light switch to turn on the lights (without key in ignition) do the dash lights come one? Do the headlights, marker (parking) lights come on? no, nothing comes on When you put the key in and turn to the on position, do the idiot lights, check engine light, e-brake light, whatever you have come on? no, none of that comes on Does the truck start when you turn the key to start? yes it does Have you checked the various ground wires for good solid connection? i checked the ones i know, drivers tail light, engine, passengers side headlight....thats it Did this happen while you were driving? i think it happened once yesterday while driving, but just for a second, then it stopped thanks, Paul

I got a post request for the ignition switch replacement...i hope someone got something.

Is there a write up, or does anyone know the steps on replacing my ignition tumbler for my 88?

Its all one piece...it was reccomended for me on this site

what does that even mean?

this may sound strange but i lost my power in my radio, turn signals, cig lighter, dash lights all at the same time. i checked all the interior fuses and checked the 4 relays (on the left, one is for the coil), everythings fine, no clue. work truck...88 4.0 thanks in advance!

I ripped out the plow frame and there was quarter inch plate bolted to the frame...so i just lwft them and put the shackles in the bolt holes.

if there was good lettering on those used tires i got i would have. when i get a bran new set, there going out.
