  1. Thanks for this thread, I decided to change my Comanche instrument cluster to have the tach included and get rid off of all those idiot lights!! I did what Andy did: use a dremel to open the holes in tach and case, and of course, having a steady hand to avoid an accident. The whole project took me a couple of days, but it worth it!! The cluster was from a 90' Cherokee, from where I also got the bucket seats, seat belt females and visors with mirrors. Believe it or not, seats are the same interior color and year as my Comanche!! See the cluster pictures after the modification: The complete cluster, with all working gauges: The tach with indicator: If anyone of you, those who haven't change your cluster yet, want to do it, go for it!!! Thanks, people!!
  2. I finally received the hat and other goodies. Soooo Sweeeeet!!!!! Pete, thanks for these, I'll wear them with proud to show others our love for Comanches. Jeep on!!!!
  3. Thanks for the pics, Chico, excelente!!! Maybe i'll try to do something like that, because Rubi did it very well, and your trans indicator is completely visible. Let's see how it goes with my "new" cluster, recently bought from eBay... (yes!!!) I'll post pictures of my project later. Again, thanks for the pics and greetings!
  4. Hi Chicofuentes, i'm still waiting for the picture... just a reminder to see if I finally see how to put the indicator on a new gauge with the tach. Do you think that Rubi did it better than you? Hope you see this...
  5. Thanks for the extra time, I PM you answering your question. I'm anxious to see the final look of the hat!! 8)
  6. Hi Rubiconron: I saw the instrument cluster installed in your MJ, and observed that the transmission indicator was adapted into the new cluster (below the tach). How did you do that??? The only reason why i'm not changing my MJ cluster is because there's no salvage yard clusters with the transmission indicator for the column shift that also have all gauges and tachometer. Usually this cluster was included in those MJs with floor shifts (standard or auto). Do you have instructions to perform this adaptation in a new cluster? Is this indicator fully operational?? You have information very valuable, please, share it with us!!!!
  7. I think Comanchedude is right, even though MJCanadian could be saying the truth too. My MJ have 17 years, there's no doubt about it. But for an engine well cared and with near 100K miles on it ( very few miles for 17 years, don't you think??), its probably that the problem could be in its original fuel pump valve wear. I never imagined that the pump could have a fuel pressure holding valve. I'll do the pressure holding testing next time I do some work with my MJ. I can assure that this forum is very instructive, thanks to all those guys who help with their comments. LONG LIVE THE JEEP!!!!!!
  8. Wow!! I saw the stickers and I want to know if you still have them for a donation. These stickers should look very nice in my 90' SporTruck, now with bucket seats and long center console (At last!!!). I can send pics later, posting them in PictureTrail. Tell me soon, please. Thanks!!!
  9. My MJ cranks from 5 to 7 seconds to start when it happens, sometimes longer, but with a full tank it fires in 3 seconds or less, always. The CPS can't be, because I changed it a couple years ago. Also, the fuel pump can't be, because my MJ should be on a tow truck if it was the reason. Any suggestion???
  10. Hi Jeep Comanche enthusiasts!!! I'm requesting some advice related to a situation with my Comanche 4.0L 90'. It usually take some time and tries to start the engine, and i observed that the gas pressure release valve don't hold pressure at all. Could be a pressure return valve worn out, or what could be? When the fuel tank is full, the engine usually start faster than with the tank in half or near empty. I'll appreciate any advice to locate the problem. My MJ is my DD (daily driver) and love it so much. Last week I swapped the bench with nice OEM buckets (same year!) and I love to drive it more every day. I'll be waiting your comments... Jeep On!!!!
  11. I really appreciate all of you, specially to Eagle and Pete, the input received for this matter related to the flares. The alternative of searching them on the website "chyslerpartsdirect" sounds fine, i'll try the OEM, because even though the modifications looks awesome, like those bushwacker flares, I don't like to cut the wells. I like the MJ still looking stock, not modified. But if anyone knows how i can put bucket seats on my Comanche, without big modifications and too much soldering (and which seat are most recommendable), is welcome to contribute with their ideas!!!! Thanks to all!! Jeep on!!!!!
  12. Sure that the MJ rear wheel well is bigger that the Cherokee? Thanks for the advice, because I didn't notice that detail... In that case, I'll need to repair the actual fender flare, right? Or are there someone who sell one right flare with brackets in good conditions?? BTW, what means IIRC?? Again, thanks for the advice!! :waving:
  13. I'm looking for some advice. Last week I paint fixed the rear bed of my Comanche, and when looking for a replacement right rear fender flare, the MOPAR salesman told me that this part was discontinued years ago. I saw that the Cherokee fender flares look the same, but don't know if they fit my Comanche without modifications. Please, those who knows the answer, tell me if its possible to install the flares from a Cherokee, including the mounting brackets. I'll appreciate the help. Jeep on!!!! Easy to be a truck. Hard to be a Jeep.
  14. The red one is my choice!!! It don't matter even my MJ is charcoal grey. The red magnet will be a catch to the eye. No preference on roll bars, but can be selected if you want to. And no flags, I have never saw a MJ with these designs before...
  15. My baby and daily driver since 1998, a 1990 4x4 SporTruck. Nearly 100k miles on her, and the engine runs good. I usually cruise to work with my automatic tranny while other Jeep drivers look at my good-looking truck. It have both MJ Dana 30 and 35, no rust and recently painted. It wasn't easy, but I found a bed cover for this SWB bed and it looks awesome! I recently finished a bucket seats conversion and finally get rid off the bench (at last!!!). Pics will be posted soon. Also, a 3" lift kit is planned too...
