  1. Thanks for the photo, you are right, here are some pics of those hooks, as long as I can tell the brackets seem the same but the hooks are kinga taller at the mounting base
  2. Hello to you all, as usual I'd like to ask you for advice, this time regarding front towing hooks and brackets I came along to a set of those tow hooks removed from a '98 XJ and I wonder if they would fit the '92 MJ, they look a little different from pictures of '96 and older XJ's and MJ's I've found Being taken from the "newer" XJ line I'm in doubt if they will fit the Comanche Any advice will be greatly appreciated Kind Regards
  3. Hello to you all Hate to bother you with newbie questions but, Is the front driveshaft the same in a 4.0 l manual or auto transmission MJ? Thanks
  4. Sorry Eagle, forgot that... 1990, 6 cylinder, (5 speed manual)
  5. Hello to you all Newbie question here, sorry but my clutch master cylinder is wrong and I need a replacement, the one I removed from the truck is the one in the first photo but all the replacements I've been able to find are like the one in the second catalog photo so I wonder if the new replacement will fit even if it's not exactly the same my truck had installed Your advice is highly appreciated
  6. Hi, thanks for asking, the '90 will remain as a 2WD with no modifications I'll convert the ' 92 to 4WD, I will keep both and try to find a nice place when my wife kick us three out of the house...

  8. Just found your post and as a newbie that is going to start a similar journey for a MJ restoration project I found it full of information and inspiration, nice work you are doing on this one
  9. Yes, that would be the best, fix the details in the 90 and leave the 92 as a long term project, thanks for your opinion
  10. The problem is the speedo/odometer in both is inoperative, the 90 stopped at 147, 991 and the 92 at 126, 542 but who's counting? I am the fourth owner of each (that I am aware of)
  11. Thanks all for your options but let me rephrase the question to you all, lets say that owning your two Comanches you will stand against untamable forces of nature (aka W.I.F.E.) that will force you, in order to avoid endlessly source of conflict and disapproval gazes, to part from one of your trucks would you all still favor the cleaner 90 over the messed up 92?
  12. Thank you for your advice, I'm not really the hot rod kind, but the general consensus seems to be building the already messed up 92 and leave the 90 be
  13. Very nice truck by the way, I like the color, is that the original paint?
  14. I think you are right, I won't try to fix what is not broken
  15. OK then, gone the remorse of wheeling the 92 then, also I like your concept of the mild offroader
  16. Well, put like that, I don't recall what was the original question, the other question would be if the 4WD swap would be easier in any of the two
  17. I really think the 92 could still be saved
  18. Yes that was my first thought but having heard about the ' 92 year models being the hardest to find my second thought was to make the effort and try to restore the 92
  19. Hello to you all Let's say you know a dude that ended up owning two Comanches; The first is a '90 / 2WD / 6 cylinder / manual transmission with little to no rust, complete with all original accessories and no modifications, running fine The second is a '92 / 2WD / 6 cylinder / manual transmission rusty floor, no mirrors, no interior door panels, cracked dash everywhere, moldy bench seat, missing almost any exterior accessories, painted over original paint (badly), lifted (badly), and leaking everywhere, almost didn't make it home, but hey it's a 92 right? Dude is committed to keep both and restore them, one as a stock 2WD daily driver and to convert the other one to 4WD, lift, bigger tires, you know the regular stuff... The question is which one would you pick to get the 4WD conversion and which would you keep stock and why? All opinions are highly valuable Thanks
  20. Hi, thanks Yes, what I wanted to know is if they mount OEM on the Comanche
  21. Hello to you all, I need help identifying a pair of seat brackets, are those Comanche's or Cheroke's Can't seem to find a part number so... Thanks
  22. Hello, hope everybody is doing great I need a Comanche Rear Bumper Right / Passenger side end cap I am looking for a NOS or like new end cap as I have to replace the one I have that have seen better days This is for a restoration so I need it in really good shape, any color, any year would fit parts number would be 52001706 or 55015795 I appreciate
  23. Thanks fiat, thanks HOrnbrod, very useful information What about the newer 97-01 XJ visors, would those fit the MJ? Regards
  24. Hello to you all, I am in need of some advice regarding the Comanche sunvisors, I am aware there are two lenghts of them and I wonder if anyone has changed long for short ones or short for long ones and the technical issues that may arise in doing so, I think that the retaining clips bolt on differently in each case but don't know if the sunvisor itself will be interchangeable Am I wrong or the long ones can be found in older MJ and XJ's and the short ones in newer models? Currently my 90 Comanche has the short ones installed but I found a nice pair of the long ones that I want to know if it is worth the effort to get and install, thanks in advance... Best Regards
