  1. Question, if the lever isn't broken but flimsy and on it's last leg can I just pull the lever out and place a new one in there? All of my signals and wipers work fine, but the lever seems to be sticky and I would like to replace it. thoughts???
  2. ok, I ended up running the line from the manifold to the bottom (in/supply) and the tstat housing (out/top) just as you, kept it pretty clean. thanks.
  3. Here is a better picture in this link;
  4. Is this R12 or R134a??? I need to replace it, it is leaking out the front of the clutch, just bought it and previous owner stated he hasn't charged it in a few weeks, no cold air, so no need to vac the lines right? also since the lines are probably empty can I purchase a newer r134a system and just hook it up to it?
  5. Which line goes in the top of heater core and which line goes in the bottom of the heater core?????
  6. Dogote, I have the same setup, currently searching to see if anyone has bypassed this already, mine is still stock with the valve, pic on the left , the yellow star with blue outline goes to the water pump, then another line from the water pump runs in front of the engine to the intake manifold, off the rear of the intake manifold the line goes behind the engine and is pictured as the red star with yellow outline. If your running without the heater valve let me know, mine has a small leak in it and I was thinking about ditching it. pic on the right shows routing of lines, yellow line from the water pump to intake manifold, then red line behind engine to HVC, and front red line tube running from water housing back to HVC pump as blue star with yellow inside.
  7. so one more quick question, in the pic coming off my intake manifold in the rear of the engine (red line) goes to my heater control valve, is this the line that I hook directly up to the core, the tube in the front of the engine (in yellow) goes from my water pump to the intake as well, and then the line running left of the condenser (in red) is also going back to the heater valve, so am I correct in saying whatever lines enter the heater control valve are the ones that get directly connected to the heater core? just want to make sure I don't have to reroute that front tube highlighted in yellow. thanks
  8. Great info , thanks everyone appreciate the help, I just bought it this weekend so I'm excited to get started , it's my first jeep and first mj
  9. How do I tell if I have a renix or not? I guess I am assuming that since it is a 2.46l 87 it is a renix
  10. Has anyone bypassed the heater control valve on a Renix 87 MJ? I saw a couple threads on here about it, but wasn't sure if it is any different in a renix? I don't believe I have any additional lines coming off the main heater hoses that feed the heater control valve. I have a 1987 2.46L, 4 Cyl, TBI : Powertrain 5-speed manual, floor gear shift, 2 W/D thoughts? thanks.
  11. Did you ever bypass the HCV? can you just use the 97+ era houses, I just got a Comanche and I believe its a renix???? 1987 2.46L, 4 Cyl, TBI 2wd ??? I want to do the same thing on mine because I noticed a small leak the other day, this is my valve:
