  1. What issue? You'll need a 6 to 1 auxiliary fuel pressure regulator. Contact Corky Bell at Bell engineering. well a regulator in general isnt what I'm concerned about, its removing the factory one and attaching my fuel line to the rail, i was under the impression that the regulator pressed into a seat shaped to the regulator
  2. well any comments on my fuel pressure regulator issue?
  3. if theres no ac then yes there is room for a 3" inner cooler between the grill and the radiator
  4. ok guys this ones for the boosted MJ owners out there, i have a few questions. next months project is putting a Eaton M90 in my 87 MJ. i have a few questions that only some one whos boosted their MJ can answer for me. if you have tips suggestions and what not id be happy to listen, and when you reply post a pix of your set up! :rock on: 1. BRAKE BOOSTER: ok so i already know the boost will make my factory booster useless, so i have 2 options. run no power brakes (hell no lol) or add an electric vacuum pump and canister. i plan on running the electric pump seeing how i can get one from a early 2000's ford for about $50. any one else try something diff? and is there anything else i will have to power with it? 2. FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR: ok at the moment this is my biggest concern. the factory regulator mounted on the fuel rail is vacuum controlled. now i know the easy route is to remove and bypass it and ad an adjustable regulator from like summit or jeggs, BUT i would like to use the factory one because it does adjust the pressure to meed running needs to an extent. if i have to go the route of the aftermarket regulator, how would i bypass the old one and attach my line into the rail? i know for the return line i wouldnt need to mess with inlet I'm not so sure. (p.s. I'm removing factory fuel tank assembly and mounting a fuel cell in the bed with a racing out tank fuel pump. the pump is rated at 45psi) ideas? 3. EMISSIONS JUNK/EGR: what do i do with the slue of emissions stuff running off vacuum? I'm pretty sure the boost with blow all thos lines off. I'm going to have a BOV set to only 6psi to start to run safe but still don't know what to do with all that stuff. here in my part of texas emissions isnt required after 25 years so i would remove it but ive seen some threds on the topic that suggest ill have running issues after. 4. MAP SENSOR/IDLE ARE CONTROL VALVE: how will the boost affect the operation of these? any concerns i should have? i was wondering cuz the map is vacuum dependent. 5. INERCOOLERS: if you run one, how do yall have them set up? anything else i should be taking into consideration? thanx for reading and helping and don't forget to post those set ups!! this is a early mock up of placement, I'm going to relocate my batter to make room for piping. ideas for battery relocation spots? i was thinking behind the passenger seat XD ive already relocated my ignition coil to underneath my over flow tank
  5. ok guys I'm turning my 2wd 5sd Comanchein a 4x4. the transmission I'm putting in is the auto aw4 with a np242 tcase. does any one know the length ill need to get it cut to so i can have it ready as soon as the trannys in?
  6. hey does any one have a Alternator wiring diagram for a 87 Comanche 4.0 or a pic of the proper wiring? last owner put a new alternator in but its not charging and i can't figure out why from what i can tell it looks to be wired right but I'm not sure and googles not much help :/
  7. ok guys I'm swapping my trans and t case out of my 96 cherokee into my 2wd comanche. my question is does any one know how the indicator light system for a NP242 t case works? i need to figure out how it works so i can wire up the indicator lights up when i do the swap. i assume that when you change gears in the t case it tiggers a switch that turns on the light when it engages. so can any one tell me how it works so i can figure out how to wire up my lights?
  8. off the top of your head you wouldnt know thw operating fuel pressure range for my 87 comanche would you?
  9. sweet what about my indicator lights?
  10. also, any tips on a simple way to do the indicator lights for the t case? i have the NP242 so i was going to steel the indicator panel out of my cherokee that shows the full time. i assume when its in a gear it just triggers a switch that turns on a light under the appropriate panel. i was going to try and figure out a way to wire that, and i think thats the last part of the swap I'm unsure about
  11. ive been talking to him on FB he helped me pick out the right kit and i ordered it. I'm about to head over to O'riles to order the flexplate, as for the CPS do i need one specifically for the flexplate? or is the one on there now for the fly wheel the same?
  12. hey thanks!! i think the RADesigns Winter Shiftier will be perfect for me. if i read it right it allows to to bypass the computers so i don't have to bother trying to figure out how to tie it into the renex and risk screwing something up, and i really don't mind shifting manually as long as i got all of my gears. I'm trying to get in contact with them to see what ill need but from what i read its just what i need. . "Gives manual control of 4spd automatic transmissions with or without the TCM/TCU or PCM." i just can't remember what the name code for the transmission i have is. i just had it rebuilt its the one made by toyota
  13. ok guys i need some help on deciding how I'm going to proceed with my swap. i have a 87 Jeep Comanche, I6 2wd 5spd stick. i also have a 96 jeep cherokee I6 4x4 Auto trans. I'm wanting to take these 2 and make my Comanche 4x4 with the auto trans, but I'm not quite sure how to do it. I'm doing this because my cherokee rusting out and has a salvage title and on its last leg, the comanche has perfect body and clean title Option one: lots of work, i swap the whole engine transmission t case and ALL the electronics ( harnesses computers dash ect) out of my cherokee into the comanche. this is allot of work and I'm a lil uncomfortable doing that because ive never done it and fear that ill screw it up. the other reason I'm leaning away from this is there is sighs of rigging in the electrical of the charokee before i owned it and i don't want to put bad electrical in, Option two: i take just the Auto trans and tcase and mate them to the engine in the comanche. if i do this i know i need a flex plate that matches my torque converter. But then i have to find some way to wire the auto trans up which i don't know how to do. any tips info or right ups on wiring a auto trans into a Manuel comanche or cherokee? all the help would be much appreciated!!
  14. I'm not sure i like them but they arnt wide enough so they will be sold
  15. oh i guess your right
  16. from what i understand they are factory alloys, they came on the Eliminator and Pioneer. so I'm thinking its posible mine started out as one, is there any way to check the vin for it?
  17. here's a better pic
  18. UPDATE ok the engine and fuel system in the Comanche is trashed and un-usable so it looks like I'm just using everything from my cherokee. any one ever pull all the wiring harness, ecm, tcm, gauge cluster well pretty much all the electronics and swap them to another jeep who can give me some pointers? this is my donor cherokee and the comanche everything's going in
  19. Well in that case I'm hoping ican get the renix engine to run good then ill only need a flex plate for my auto trans and figure out how to wire the tcm and a tps that will work, any ideas? Also if I do that how will i wire my 4x4 indicator lights in the Comanche gage cluster?
  20. i only saw a write up for going Renix to OBD1 not 2
  21. ok i have a 96 xj sport 4x4 with the i6 HIOutput the toyota auto trans that I'm having rebuilt and a NP242 tcase, the body is rusting out on me. I'm picking up a 87 2wd manual Comanche this weekend and I'm planing on swaping EVERYTHING out of my xj into it. Engine, trans, Tcase, both axles. i know everything is direct bolt up and ill have to have a new drive shaft made, i did a 2wd->4wd swap a few months back on some xjs one auto and one manual with a friend, but they were a 96 and a 98. so we didtnt have a prob with the issue I'm concerned with my question is what do i have to do to put my OBDII engine in a OBDI truck? i know ill have to swap ecu's but what else? any other problems or concerns yall think i might run into? a lil help would be nice as ima start taring into these 2 in the nest few weeks i posted the same thing cherokeeforums mj section and tbh i havent goten much help here's the link to my original post http://www.cherokeeforum.com/f88/87-comanche-4x4-swap-questions-222886/#post3221315
