Thanks for the Tip, but I prefer the vinyl flooring. I tend to spill things often and it just makes it easier to clean.

I removed my carpet today, did not find any fiberglass padding. Without it, is there much to worry about?

So today I pulled the Carpet. Learned that I am missing a number of screws that hold the paneling in and some that are addition drilled in anchors. :( Good news is the floor looks pretty good and only 2 holes, neither very large. One on drivers side being the bigger of the 2. This is the larger hole/crack of the 2, and in the same place on the Passenger side. Any suggestion for easy covering? Bondo? I could not seem to get this part of the flooring out. Couldn't seem to find what was holding it in, guessing I can not leave it in? Here is the carpet pulled, its not going back in. I am going to do Vinyl when I get the leak fixed which appears to be windshield.

I just this week ordered my cables from Jon! Sorry to jump in this thread but In relation to tip 1 I have a question. It appears that my Negative Battery Ground and all the other grounds are on the dip stick stud together and not separate as mentioned in tip 1. I have looked and looked, I can not see anything else. When I change cables should I separate them?

Took some photos yesterday and have a few questions. Anyone know why PO put the 10 there? That the Fill line? Should I add 50/50 to that line? Ordered a new cap, as you can see it is leaking some. So here are the Battery Cables. :eek: I guess I need to change those, I am not tech savvy, assuming shouldn't be hard to do at all. I want to use Marine or Military terminals, as I have seen recommended. But when I looked online they don't come with the cables. Would the auto parts store have the lug cables long enough as well? Any other suggestions/recommendations are welcome. There is also nothing holding the battery in place other than the cables. you can see the holder/support bar laying back there, not sure if it is still useable. Can someone tell me what this is/does? Should I worry about that white cable that looks like it was chewed off. Thanks!

Quick update one where I am at and things I have learned about truck since obtaining. The truck as been sitting at my buddies who lives close to where I bought the truck. He has a friend who races cars and had a garage. So I asked him to check out the oil leak since it was going to be a few weeks before I would be able to drive it home. So far the oil leak has been fix by replacing the Valve cover gasket, distributor gasket, and sadly after those still had to replace RMS/oil pan gasket. He also painted my valve cover gasket, added the oil filter adapter for me. Yesterday I made the 100 mile trip home, and smiling most of the way. I did frown when I stopped for gas, as when I filled up I decided to peek under and see if the fuel tank had a leak and sure enough it was raining gas. Now, I am guessing the leak is at the top as when I made it home, gas was not longer dripping. It had been raining all day, noticed the wind shield is leaking on the passenger side :doh: . Headliner was damp as well as carpet. After, I got home I noticed a slight squeal of some sort, that I think was a belt, but really have no clue at this point. But it was a sound I do not recall hearing before I started the drive. Also found the oil cap leaking. So, this week I will look at the gas tank, which I know nothing about. Wondering if I should just go ahead and buy a new one. Need to have the windshield resealed. Pull the carpet , and should I also remove the headliner? If I can find a rubber tire tube I will try the oil cap fix, if not I will buy a new one. Sorry I do not have any new pictures, I will take some this week. Hello All, New to forum and Comanche owner. 1987 Comanche Chief 4.0 6cyl. 4wd, 5sp manual. Been reading a lot of post here and taking in all I can. She runs pretty good but leaking oil and tranny fluid, so those are first on my list.
