The black Comanche with my name is a 1987 that I have also but not the 1989.

Hi to all Comanche lovers, I just bought a 1989 Comanche but do not know which model it is. The seller's title does not indicate the model. Does anyone know how to find out? The truck has been repainted.

Thanks for your help. The 87 Comanche I have does have ac installed (not working) but I want to replace all of it. An 89 I am considering never had air. Rather than purchasing rebuilt system from back when or left over unsold from that era, I am thinking about new built equipment to fit old cars/trucks. A muscle car restoration company told me about Vintage Air. vintageair.com Has anyone used their ac and know whether there is a problem with the evaporator fitting under the dash (or any of it for that matter). Any other companies like that out there that has a fond spot for Comanches? Thought the system might work better and be more reliable than those of 30 years ago. Might be wrong on that. Any recommendations for Comanche mechanics in eastern Virginia? Nick

Does anyone have advice about having totally new air conditioning systen put in a Comanche? Vintage Air or other manufacturer. I have 87 and with dead ac and thinking about getting an 89 that is in better shape but never had ac installed at the factory. If never had ac, is that likely to be a major problem? Any know aproximate cost? Evaporators fit in dash ok? Thanks for your help!

Bought an '87 Comanche and restoration is in process. Flew cross country to no salt west and drove 1,300 miles home. Later learned it had not been inspected in 10 years. 1. Anyone know where to find METAL door handles? I only find plastic online. 2..Any words of advice about complete replacement of the ac system? Especially manufactured parts to get or avoid? Will a later model year system work better and will the evaporator fit in the same place under the dash? Want it 100% new, condenser, compressor to fan. 3. Had driver side floor plan cut out and new metal welded in. New windshield. Still have leaks on each side from under dash. Anyone got a best guess about what leaks under the dashboard? 4. Any suggestions for signal light switch replacement manufacturer? 5. Any suggestions for door glass trim pieces and drip tray chrome pieces? 6. Tail gate sounds like something from the 1940s or 1950s. Body shop man said not to replace it because it has more metal than something newer. Is the metal noise just state of the art vintage 1987?
