Currently I'm on 35s. Not sure what my plans are for the 14 bolt. I'll be moving to Colorado in July and from there I will start building a cage for the bed area of the truck. Will be running coilovers in the rear not sure if I'm going to build the 14 yet or not but if I do I will not shorten it. It's really dependent on what front axle I find first. If I get a 44 I'll keep the 8.8 if I find a D60 I'll build the 14. I'll be switching to 37s minimum once it's no longer a daily driver. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Some bigger news, I was on my local jeep Facebook page last night and I found a guy giving away a 14 bolt to clean up some room in his garage. It was all torn apart but it was all there. Oh yeah you definitely got it then! Beware we cutting the fenders. I used an angle grinder and caught lots of melted plastic on my arms. Long sleeves are recommended! Hahaha. Ahhh you lucky dog. Just picked up SGT in time to get out! I go on terminal in July. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Well this is more so for my own records but oil change and trans change at 133xxx. Little side note I was pleasantly surprised when changing my transmission fluid it still looked brand new like it came out of the bottle and there was next to nothing on the magnets in the trans pan. Got the flares on. I'm not a huge fan of the way it turned out.. it definitely looks better then the rust and poorly painted stick flares. But it was a cheap fix and will get the job done until I'm able to take the bed off and start my cage build. I started by measuring where I need the fender to sit in order to be able to cut out all of the rust I had. It was 1 1/4 inch down from the body line. After setting up the top of the fender to that line I drew. I followed the inside of the fender with an expo pen so I knew where to cut. I did have to cut out a fairly large portion of the pinch weld but that structural integrity was already ruined by the massive rust hole so it is what it is. Where I didn't need to cut the much out I simply cut the lip off and did the cut and fold method. after that I had to do some minor trimming to the inside of the flare to allow it sit right on the body as well as trimming it to fit the body lines. after that all that was left was to drill some new bolt holes, hit it with some POR-15 and some color match paint and put her on! Like I said earlier. It looks okay.. I definitely would not have gone this route if I didn't have the rust issue but it worked out well for me now. Well I decided to go with tj flares in the rear for the time being! Found a pair on a local jeep page for $20 bucks. Got my old fender flares taken off! you can really see the extent of the rust! Later this week I'll do some cutting and drilling and get them installed. Paid 3 bucks for some new bolts as all of mine snapped when I took off the old flares. I'll hit it with some POR15 once it's all cleaned up. $23 for and easy fix! Good deal in my book!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have way to much rake in the rear of my truck after going SOA. Looking to get lift shackles for a Cherokee that are .75 inch worth of lift. Which if I'm not mistaken is the original difference in XJ/MJ shackles. My real question is I've heard the leaf springs are slightly wider on the XJ. So to resolve the rust issue in my rear fender flares I'm considering the flared bedsides similar to what's on the zone off-road Comanche. Does anyone know or have experience with a place to buy these and the inner fender wells? Both of mine are pretty rusted out. I'm looking hannemann but their website seems outdated and somewhat sketchy! All advice is appreciated or other solutions to solve the rust! Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I got the winch fixed! Just ended up being corroded connections. But it doesn't fit. Not sure if it's the way quadratec made the winch or the way ares made my bumper but I'd have to make some cuts into the grille so it would fit and I'm not willing to do that! So I'm going to sell it! If anyone on here is interested in it send me a message. $100 shipped. Come with the roller fairlead and fairlead bracket. Well here's the winch I got for lifting my buddy's Tahoe! it was respooled horrible so I pulled out the cable and went to tighten it up. No power at all. I might mess around with it for a little and see if I can't figure out what's wrong but if not I'm really not all the heart broken. It was essentially free. Just a couple hours of my time. Helped my budding out a 8.8 with Ironrock Off-road truss in his XJ today (still strongly do NOT recommend their company) everything went fairly well. The truss needed a little modification to be able to clear the ubolts. Just some more slop from their company. Hah. One month and one week later my driveshaft finally came in! HEYOO!! I had said before how disappointed I was with iron rock offroads customer service was and their communication after telling me it had already shipped 3 times when it hadn't even been made yet. But all in all It finally came but the paint on the shaft was absolutely horrible. Looks like they didn't even try and one of the ujoint caps was all blown apart and the bearings inside were ruined. Needless to say ironrock off-road will not be getting anymore of my business. I think I made need a couple degree shims but I'll figure that out at a later date. I was pretty busy this week. I put a 2 inch budget lift on my buddy's 2007 Chevy Tahoe in exchange for a quadratec q9000 winch I believe it was. Not a bad trade for a couple hours of my time. It will last until I can reach deep enough in my pocket for a warn winch! And today I got some 6 1/2 inch speakers installed in the doors! I got these for Christmas and just got around to getting them in. Didn't have to cut or anything! Fit right into the factory holes I was pleasantly surprised. (red old-black new) they sound much clearer and don't seem to rattle! So far so good. Someday I'll get around the rear. Also got my CB antenna back up and my radio in. Planning to run the COAX cable tomorrow when I install the winch! Sometime this week or this weekend I'll get to chopping up my rocker panels and start mocking up rock slides!!

So I got the HNT SYE in. Not much going on for the last month as I have been fighting with a company who is making my drive shaft. Have called 3 separate times about a week apart and each time I have gotten "we will be sending it out today" may have to ask for my money back soon! But in the mean time I picked up some POR15 as I noticed a little bit of rust starting underneath the bed. I think I'll end up applying it to the whole under belly of my truck. The tiny pint size can goes REALLY far! I have to say I'm super impressed. I'll most likely get to that this weekend! But in bigger news. Next big project for the Comanche is to cut out the existing rocker panels and swap in 2x6 or 2x8 square tubing, add center section frame stiffeners and permanently tie them into there! The rust in the rockers is getting pretty bad on the passenger side. has anyone done this on a Comanche before? Also any suggestions on how thick the 2x6 steel should be? Trying to keep the weight down. I have been looking for thread on this for a Comanche but haven't seen anything! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

to be honest I hated the color when I first got it. It has definitely grown on me I'm going to get it re painted the same factory color. I feel that though I had a 87 XJ I had painted sand and loved the look of it! also really love the deep forest green :hmm: too many choices

yeah i'm getting close to caging the rear as well! yes i have HP dana 30 out of a 96 cherokee, that has been trussed, and sleeved and its pushing the 35s fine for now. I'm looking for a 44 from a rubicon TJ but theyre hard to come by where I am. That a good start on your comanche though! I can't wait to see how it comes along! :thumbsup:

the glare from the hood isnt bad at all. What really gets me is i mounted my antenna right there so i get a TON of glare of the coil. It acts like a mirror and blasts me in the face haha :doh: i don't have anymore pictures what exactly do you want to see though? I will gladly take some for you

well i very quickly outgrew the solid diff covers. they look nice but you just can't beat ruff stuff! got their 8.8 cover this thing is BEEF!! I really liked the way it came so i took some 800 grit sand paper and just polished her up a bit before i put some UV resistant clear coat on! I love the added strength and the appearance is great too! (yes i know my shock is almost off) :rotf:
